All female or all male units have been successful in Russian studies, but don't mix males and females in training/combat/air combat units.

For a female to do tasks a skinny male can do means stress fractures for the female since her bones are not as thick or dense as male bones. So then you have a wounded 240 pound male soldier and a collapsed 140 pound female who collapsed from stress fractures trying to carry the wounded male to safety. I saw that at NAS Miramar (now MCAS Miramar) Clinic when female hospital corpsmen tried to lift a heart attack patient the ambulance was trying to bring to the Clinic E.R.. The females hospital corpsmen had to call for additional help (male help) to lift the heart attack victim who of course died since getting to the E.R. took two ambulance runs instead of scoop and run which saves lives.
