Two fractions within the Communist party struggled for power. The Jews lost and were purged from the party and country, Not bad considering that commies usually dealt with their enemies much more ruthlessly. Also the military had to be purged as Russian secrets had been leaked to Israel en mass prior to the 1967 war, While in the civilian sphere loyalty to a foreign entity is not that problematic, in the military it is. However, many regular people were caught in this storm and only they deserve an apology of sorts, although eventually most of them ended up in Israel. It could have been worse because as many Poles had no idea what and where Zion was, they erroneously demanded the Jews to be sent to Siam. Thankfully it did not happen because today we would have to apologize to Thailand as well.
