1. The IDF is not ready for haredim

No question about it. Haredim need fully segregated, glatt kosher expensive food, time for learning, time for praying, vacations on Shabbat, Yom Tov, Chol Hamoed, etc. (Jewish law does not permit to work or do any creative activities on those days unless one's life is in immediate danger). Then there's also paternal leave, since many haredim get married young and are fathers at a young age. Many of them do not want to serve and if the government tries to force them, they will resist even more. The only solution is to fully exempt haredim from army service and allow those who are not learning full time to legally enter the work force.
