1. leave the man in peace to do the job he was elected to do
Lynda   (03.26.18)
It makes me sick that with so many really major, serious life-threatening problems facing the Israeli nation we are interrogating our PM at this point in his term of office, instead of letting him deal with things are are of immediate and crucial importance to the entire population. How about taking an example from the Europeans, who let their leaders finish their term of office before trying them for matters of corruption. Especially a leader who is really leading, with so many major positive outcomes over the years. Let's please just let him get on with doing his job, please please please
2. We need to pass a basic law called: term limits for all!
(03.27.18)
3. It only took 70 years for us 2 become a full kleptocracy!
(03.27.18)
4. this is about the me? I am not a fryer syndrome...
(03.27.18)
Israelis wish they could take what so several of our leaders have stolen!
5. Yes Justice moves slowly...
(03.27.18)
after all it took close to 6 months for Puigdemont (former President of Catalunya) to be arrested and processed.
Why was Puigdemont finally arrested? He got lazy and sloppy.
this is what happens to all corrupt leaders...they get lazy and sloppy and then they get busted!
6. Why half of Israelis still support Netanyahu
(03.27.18)
Because he's an unapologetic nationalist. Ynet staff, do you not realize how unpopular your beliefs are outside of urban liberal bubble? You people are stunningly out of touch.
7. Do you have a clue what the PM does?
Expert   (03.27.18)
Must manage security, industry, financial health, military, infrastructure such as electric, gas, water, oversee all lawmaking, travel around world promoting Israel's interests, know every little thing that's going on, as well, on a personal level, such as Israel's athletic achievements, chess competitions, scientific research accomplishments. The man never gets to rest, and is a brilliant thinker and tireless doer. Not afraid to tell the world that this is our land, and has been for thousands of years, in flawless English. Fought in Sayeret Matkal, has advanced degree from MIT. Few can replace him. Pretty foolish to hound him over some cigars and champagne, when Trump gets gourmet meals prepared for him free of charge.

Hopefully when he is ready to retire, Bennett will take over, as he is one of the few who can match him.
8. Israelis know "investigation" is politically motivated B.S.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.27.18)
There is a very simple reason why most Israelis still support Bibi. They know Bibi is one of Israel's most effective P.M.s ever, and the "investigation" against him is politically motivated leftist deep state B.S.
9. Bibi has support because he gets results
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (03.27.18)
The public is smart enough to see past the witch hunt & the b.s cases where no crime was committed. Bib has revolutionized Israel's economy turning it from a socialist, government run economy to a strong, free market economy with tremendous growth. He has also taken bold steps to defend Israel's security, that is why the public supports him.
10. Photo: "..IDF such an efficient and dangerous army" ?!?!
ironbutterfly ,   Naples, FL   (03.27.18)
This sentence is very funny. Perhaps it WAS true when IDF was a real army in 1950-1970s, which went from war to war every ten yrs or so, with a lot of experience, with most talented commanders and pilots israel ever had.
Since 1982 war in Lebanon, israel had no real wars. So to say that IDF is "efficient" is an extreme over statement. "Efficient" ??? ...based on what ???
Abusing Palestinians at checkpoints, making nightly arrests...what else IDF does today??? NOTHING.
IDF is "dangerous"...hahaha...this is really funny. IDF wasn't involved in any serious operation or even a war since 1983. Not only that, IDF has FAILED everywhere since 1983, except 2007 attack on Syrian reactor. But that was done by IAF, not IDF.
11. good
David ,   NY   (03.27.18)
Because he is the best good with great achievments and very smart
12. Psychiatry is best applied to the Leftist Lunatics, not the
(03.27.18)
sane majority.
If you leave out (for obvious reasons) the Arabs, vast majority of Jews in Israel support Netanyahu because of his brilliant stewardship!!!
"We the People" are really not that dumb.
Only at the rarefied, academic campuses they do live in a delusional conviction of superiority of "progressive" thinking (if one can call their mindless activity as such!)
13. I think we have got past the point when
Naor ,   Jerusalem   (03.27.18)
We let the Europeans lead by their example and yes, Israel does have a lot of more important things to worry about than the fact that the Netanyahus have or might have sticky fingers- the problem is by turning a blind eye because we feel there is no one else who could run the country means that if you do it for one you have to do it for everyone.Isn't it enough we had Deri and Olmert and Katsav- and to a lesser degree half of the mayors of our cities at one time or another. No one is indispensable particularly politicians.Politicians are like buses- miss one- another will be along in a minute.
14. Why half of Israelis still support Netanyahu?
Moshe Dayyan ,   Beer Shiva, Israel   (03.27.18)
Why did a majority of Germans support Hitler and the Nazi party?
The reason is the same.
Yes, the economy is looking good, but Netanyahu is also corrupt, dishonest, liar, fascist, racist, jingoist, recalcitrant, arrogant, insolent, and war-monger
15. I support Bibi bcoz he has achieved MORE for Israel than ALL
Alan   (03.27.18)
ex Prime Ministers put together. He has achieved such levels of leadership that Israel today is ACCEPTED as a SUPERPOWER somewhere in top 10 of the whole world. He graces every chancellery in a world where Jews are usually hated. Only he could have handled that Obama as he did. From North Pole to South Pole -even KSA and Arab States.. All hail Bibi
I am not a psychophant but a genuine believer in the many talents of Bibi and his lovely beautiful wife Sarale
16. Bibi is #1 and I hope one day Naph Bennet will succeed him
Alan   (03.27.18)
17. Or “Why 80% Hate the Arogant Media”
EftisindControl ,   Jerusalem   (03.27.18)
18. your motivation speculation is far off
Richard Sherwin ,   herzliyah   (03.27.18)
i dont think any sensible person, israeli or otherwise, wants to be 'like' the transgressor you suggest lurks in our hearts. we support bibi because he's stable, experienced, in foreign policy AND can maintain a fairly stable coalition government given our nutty democratic party system. he's one of the best we've had since 1964, not a blowhard like some ex generals, or ideologue like some ex intelligence people. A pragmatist, knowing what the neighbors we have and the politicians and media we have, are like, and able to keep them in check.
19. prof.yovell's thoughts
tomer ,   jerusalem   (03.27.18)
one can agree to prof.yovell's analysis (or not ) . Two things however
i do not understand:
1)if ,as stated, these are jewish traits over centuries, why it appears that in
last 15-20 years corruption( or "tests of boundries") increased to unbearable
heights in Israel?

2) And the most important question : "how we get that fixed?" How we
get important traits like honour, ethical and moral standards back to be
appreciated values? (or at least to be discussed, since they completely
disappeared from public discourse)
20. how about this: Netanyahu is competent and brilliant
C   (03.27.18)
the so called corruption has not been proven.

should it be proven, at least half the population will not care.

the population cares infinitely more about the dire national security
situation threatening israel.
the children need to be explained what is important.
21. The solution is to leave the country, let "his half" drool.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.27.18)
The professor describes a cultural rubbish that is "inside us." It is not pleasant to be cigar smokers and wine drinkers on account of others. But there might be a solution. No need to suffer if you don't have to. Wait it out by doing better things in life on the outside.
22. Bibi is not exceptional the problem is the lack of a credibl
tehraniporou   (03.27.18)
e and appealing alternative. If only general yadlin could be the pm and appoint sexy shaked as minister of telecom to have her on air 24/7
23. sounds good but it is flawed opinion
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (03.28.18)
The Israelis have realized that the Pals do NOT want peace. No matter how the left has tried to kiss the Pals backside, they were unable to make peace. We had Rabin, Olmert and even Sharon who gave them Gaza for free - but no peace.

We simple Israelis have realized that there is no sense in trying to give them peace, so instead we prefer a strong leader who gives us security. That is why Labor/Zionist Union is almost dead. Meretz is near collapse and the right and the religious are growing.
24. Bias
Anebt ,   Lutz FL   (03.28.18)
I've not read Ynet for a while. It's become more biased than ever. I see that they are extremely biased against Bibi.
Bibi, the US supports you no matter what the leftists say.
25. Bibi under attack from outside
Mr.Reason ,   Berlin   (03.29.18)
Bibi has problems because he didn't quit his good relations with Putin. Israel has visa free travel regiment with Russia, 35% Israelis speak Russian, many have Russian citizenchip.
Israel is celebrating the end of ww2 on May 9th, like Russia. The 9th May became a religeous memorial day like passover. Israelis know the history of the Holocaust, which was perpetrated by West, including USA, and know which army saved the Jewish nation - The Red Army. To those majority of US citizens, who live in an informational buble, I recommend two US books: Conjuring Hitler, how UK and America made the Third Reich; Nazinexus, by Edwin Black. Once you have read the books, you may ask your self who is directing the US education, media and how can this central agency control the informational industry from discussing this topics in the public. This will lead you to better understand how transparent, or not, the political system in USA is.
In any case, Israel is a democratic country, which is also welcomed by the US administratiion, especially, since, giving the means available to US, it can easily manipulate a democratic system by supporting, or not, a given government, opposition.
Therefore, whether Bibi will stay in his function is rather a question, whether Israel is ready to openly join the fascistic russophobia orchestrated by the failing empire USA. Israel won't join this hysteria, due to religious, historical, demographic reasons, as well as national security interests. Bibi may fall, but a close relationship with Russia will stay. Russia, by the way, announced three weeks ago, that in case of an aggression from Iran against Israel, it will defend Israel.
26. Leave Bibi alone
lal ram ,   Wolverhampton, UK   (03.29.18)
Bibi is the best PM we have, he is not perfect, then who is, he has guts, and zeal for the protection of Israel, He has achieved much, and I believe the best is yet to come. Bibi is the best PM we have, and will have. People should support him, for the sake of the existance of the Jewish nation, he is a brilliant advocate for Israel, I feel sad when people put their personal preferences first, a nation divided against it self will perish, but unity is strength. If we are united, No nation in the world will dare to attack Israel. Hashem is their protector and shield. I truly believe Bibi is the best leader for Israel.
