It is really, really sad. Too much arrogance is cause for self destruction. Without America, Israel is a 2 inch mouse with a 1000 miles long tail. Every Empire has an expiration date, not because it is American or Greek or Persian but because it is human construct suffering from human condition that ultimately, sooner or later, self destructs. Read the history of every single Empire. Israel, or for that matter, every country on the planet, having a reasonable number of immediate neighbours, can only and only survive (not 70 years but 700, 7000 years) if and if only it is accepted by all the neighbours(not the governments) and lives in total harmony with all. Real peace and not zero some game is the only chance Israel has for eternal life and survival. Israel, for her own sake and for the sake of the whole humanity, has to go the extra mile or two or thousand to get a meaningful, not self servicing, peace. That is the only way for one and all.

heard in Tehran but I am not sure if it would be effective. It is not that easy to draw comparisons between the syrian case or even "oh chirac" and the iranian case. Israel was deterred from striking Tehran because it is a difficult military operation with counterproductive results and it will need the assistance of the US to also strike from all of the borders of Iran. Striking iran would require all of the IDF to be mobilized on all fronts, send the air force and the submarines the persian gulf and to strike down all of iran air defenses, navy and numerous underground missile bases spread throughout iran to reduce to the maximum extent the retaliation. Taking down nuclear reactors will have lasting massive environmental effects in Iran and it will coalesce the majority of the iranian people, even opponents to the regime against israel. Assuming that the operation is successful, the retaliation will come from multiple fronts. The proxies will attack all of israel from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and iran will also retaliate directly. This is a scenario of a regional war with countless casualties and people in bunkers. Even if the regime has its head cut off, a strike will strenghten the resolve of any succeeding iranian government to engage in massive military expenditures not to mention the possibility to build a nuclear deterrent. In times of internal turmoil in Iran, I am not sure if undercover operations within iran wont be a better card to play rather than an all-in bluff.

That child murderer only dares to use proxies like Ocalan or Hezbollah in counter attacks. Israel will turn Beirut to a desert, if Hezbollah and SAA attack it via Lebanon.
