Talkbacks Trump pick Bolton a 'friend' of Israel, reviled by Palestinians

As an American Jew who loves Israel I would urge Israeli's not to praise Bolton and for the government of Israel not to be lavishing praise on this man. He is responsible for the unwarranted war with Iraq which resulted in the deaths of more than 5,000 U.S. men and women in our military and the wounding of more than 40,000. There were no weapons of mass destruction, Saddam was not a threat to America or the world, and Iraq is now the puppet of Iran, Israel's most implacable enemy. He has called for regime change in Iran and North Korea and starting a war with both countries. A war with North Korea could result in the casualties of hundreds of thousands of people and a war with Iran will wind up engulfing Israel, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, cause the deaths of tens of thousands of people, decimate the world economies which have finally recovered from the Great Recession. Nothing can be gained by starting a war with North Korea, and nothing can be gained by walking away from the agreement with Iran about limiting their nuclear weapons except war, a war that will harm Israeli's and Jews worldwide. I wish that the Israeli people would not express their adoration towards people in America solely because they are pro-Israel. Israelis seem to love Trump who has emboldened and empowered racists and anti-semites and anti immigrant bigots. Last week the ADL reported a 57% increase in anti-semitic incidents since Trump became President in 2017. Israeli's need to stop embracing racists and bigots solely because they support Netanyahu. There are many millions of decent, good people who support Israel and love Israel who are Jewish and Christian and they do not support intolerance, bigotry, racism, anti-semitism, Islamaphobia, and hatred towards people who do not look like they do or speak the same language or have the same religious faith. Praising those who on the extreme right solely because they support Israel is very, very dangerous. The harm these right wing extremists can do to Israel and the safety and security of its citizens is something you should not ignore. A war with Iran will not result in its defeat or regime change but will destabilize the entire Middle East and hundreds of thousands of innocent lives on all sides will be destroyed. When you lavish praise on people who are pro Netanyahu who have encouraged wars all around the world be careful what you wish for because you just may get it. Those on the right in America who clamor for war have one thing in common. None of their children serve in the military and they and their families will never have to suffer the consequences of their decisions.
