it is the same old story. a number of Israelis like shelah of yesh atid, a commando in the mold of ayalon whose prescriptions would harm israel, shelah says according to what i read-lets not boot zoabi out of the Knesset even if she yells vulgarities and garbage against israel.
a democratic country has to have a free judiciary but there are limits. it should not usurp the role of the Knesset and government. and judiciary politics should not have any place in its rulings ie if it favours peace talks or not.
some of the sentences handed out to terrorists are hard to fathom-like sentencing someone for manslaughter as he attacked and killed an Israeli with a knife. as if he did not intend to kill. every Arab who wields a knife into an Israeli intends to kill him period.
national security trumps technical legal defenses. there has to be some limitations.
in the case of govt override of the judiciary, there should be some limits in certain cases where the issue is paramount. bibi of course is predictable-maybe i'll support it , maybe i won't-who is supporting the bill- well then let someone else carry the load-no i won't support it etc etc.
the man cannot take a decision and goes with the wind. there is no real conviction except some hauntings from his father.
if enough people said to him give up the west bank, then he would go along with it regardless of the security implications.
do you notice that Lieberman is handling the Gaza problem in a steady strong fashion. we hardly hear from bibi and it is a pleasure. he provides no confidence with his nervous demeanor.
if i was his father, i would have sent him for self defense training in the gym 5 days a week and then had him practice boxing or wrestling opponents to root out the fear and cowardice in his bones. He still radiates cowardice.
Israel no longer needs him. Bennett is far superior.
