I have a reason to believe that my family are Jews but we have no proof. All the proof that I have is a Ancestry.com test that says I'm 1% Jewish. So does that make me Jewish per se? Or do I need a higher percentage. Please let me know. Thanks.

Breeding down is an interesting strategy.

Gypsy people are the last tribes of Israel, majority of gypsy people have DNA taken and they share the same DNA code as jews from Israel. Also during WW2 jews and gypsy people were given same tattoos (sara) and been murdered because nazis know the truth of gypsy people.

We don't have a considerate and accomodating rabbinate.

The link at the bottom is the result of my DNA testing. It shows that my ancestors had origins in Egypt, crossed the Red Sea, ventured into southern Israel, went into Moab (presumably when in Chronicles, 500 Simeonites fought the Amalekites...I suppose). Then, finally were carted off into Assyria, and finally into Europe including Bulgaria, and Romania. My father always said I had Gypsies in my family tree, and my mother was certain there were Jews in my ancestry. There is no record of Jewish ancestry in my Geneological records and my DNA shows I am not related to the Cohen or the tribe of Judah. As an aside I am religious, I do my best to observe Torah (being a Torah-Observent Christian because there was a calling upon my heart to obey the Torah), and I often hear G-d in my prayers. In an answer to one of my prayers, after I fasted I remember distinctly hearing the Lord mentioning Simeon after I asked about my heritage. You can take it as you see it, but I feel the Lord does speak to his children. Anyway after research, and a few hundred dollars in DNA testing, I can say that this guy may not be far from the truth. There might be at the very least some plausibility to it, I think.
