The voting in the UN is politically motivated and politically biased. Real politik, trade relations, Arab oil, Arab sanctions against those who vote for Israel etc are the real reason why the UN almost always votes against Israel. Israel hatred and anti-Semitism hardly exist in countries such as China, India, Japan and South East Asia - meaning well over 3 billion people.

The entire Goldstone mess came about because guess who in the Israeli govt stonewalled and said that Israel would not cooperate. How many of you reading this actually read the first IDF report on the individual actions that were questioned? It could have been written by a computer, everything was operational necessity and loss of life was unfortunate but no one's fault but Hamas. It took until the international pressure was serious for the IDF to do some more investigation, find mistakes, and acknowledge them as well as hold some commanders responsible. The final report from the IDF is nothing like the original one.

Had Israel not stonewalled, and the IDF right away done serious public disclosure of the mistakes made, there would not have been any Goldstone Report and the PR disaster. The international community only has jurisdiction if it can be shown that the country involved doesn't have it's own credible process to investigate and hold people responsible.

After the IDF finally released a serious report, Judge Goldstone retracted his earlier comments and basically said "why didn't you do this in the first place?" Of course no one who hates Israel remembers this.

How about less bluster, and more openness?

The same EU nations that condemn Israel and call for an investigation are the ones openly funding the terrorism against Jews.
