If it were mortars or rockets causing such destruction, the IDF would be going after the launch sites and those "engineers" behind it. But since its "just kites" being launched by "civilians", they are given a pass. The IDF works on strictly defensive measures - kite killing drones - and the country expends resources on fighting fires and calculating the monetary compensation owed farmers. But who compensates the citizenry when public lands are destroyed?
These are indeed military attacks by illegal combatants, and they don't merit the legal protections granted civilians in a war zone. The strict rules of engagement need to be reconsidered. Keeping the casualty count down is a losing strategy, as it only abets this aggression. Carrying out a strike in some other venue after failure to address breaches of peace along the border fools no one.
