I'm afraid my dear, you understand nothing of how these people were treated by MY people. 50 years ago many Arab villages on the Eastern, North Eastern and South Eastern fringes of ARAB Jerusalem were included in the NEW MUNICIPAL BORDERS of United Jerusalem.
The trouble is, that they never received basic municipal services as they should have. For decades roads, schools, public playgrounds etc were never built. Children had to walk long distances to school as busing was not provided by the municipality. A decade ago the Palestinian Authority began paving a dirt road in one of the villages despite the fact that this village is not under it's jurisdiction. To prevent this, Israel then paved the road as it should have done decades before.
So maybe you can now understand that there is bitterness and resentment.
