The unstated task of the current CR is to preserve Orthodox (or its brand) Judaism in the State of Israel. It sees that under Jewish law, the Knesset and certainly, the Supreme Court are illegitimate bodies. A body that sees self-preservation as its primary goal unfortunately relegates the unity of the people as a secondary goal, even when they occasionally look in the mirror.
