1. N Korea is for N Korea- Abas is for the Arab World
MadDad ,   Johannesburg   (06.14.18)
Has the author forgotten the Clinton Afafat Barack negotiations so soon?
Arafat chose to reject everything because making peace with Israel would be a slap in the Arab worlds face - he didn’t give a damn about a small group of Arabs who would benefit from peace with Israel
When the Arab mentality changed (like the stripes on a tiger) peace with Israel will be possible- until then there is nothing Israel can do except defend itself from the onslaught
2. Is this Mrs.Sima being funny& provocative?? Not so much!

Netanyahu offered to meet Abbas many times. Remeber the 10 months Freeze - Abbas was not interested even then. Netanyhu happy to meet with no preconditions at any time - the ball has always been with Abbas. This is a straight out lie - not an opinion piece. You are entitled to opinions not to making up facts. By the way - “a blatant, arrogant, ignorant man, filled with internal contradiction and lacking any values” – I guess the value she looks for is like President Clinton – where they ‘avoided like the plague’ calling what was happening in Rwanda a Genocide for they would have had to act or taking any actions due to political risk and took the lead pushing to remove the UN forces (lets not forget 800,000+ people were massacred) , Or perhaps Hillary which accused an innocent film maker pushing for Jail sentence, etc – when she knew it Benghazi was planned ? OR perhaps Obama and the company he keep – e.g. Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Wright and many others – people who actively engage in hate speeches and many others who had a very violant past (including involvement in bombing 2 synagogues) or perhaps Obamas double standards - egged-on against other regimes but fell silence when it came to people revolution Iran, or that had Red lines where his main concern (as now shown in the book) was simply to offload it to someone else – i.e. let the Chemical rains , or how honest was it to setup a disinformation office when you are the president.
4. The dream
Stan ,   Israel   (06.14.18)
It seems that Sima Kadmon and I share a dream that one day soon, the leaders of Israel and Palestine will sit down together and finally end this bloody conflict which has gone on far too long.
How many more Israelis and Palestinians share this dream? I am sure that all mothers of young children dream that their children will hopefully grow up to a better world than the one being offered now.
To many people the conflict seems complex and unsolvable. It all depends upon the willingness of both sides to seek a compromise for the good of all concerned.
5. WAIT! ABBASSOLE GONE IN 90 DAYS...next crook please step up.

6. USSR, China, N Korea benefited by
Avi L.   (06.14.18)
USSR, China, N Korea benefited by the suspention of the "aggressive, capitalistic, imperialistic war games" ...

Philippines are already kotowing to Xi Jiping, South Korea may soon see things in a pro China way ...

After badly shaking NATO, G7 where he asked the return of Putin his controller, Mexico and Canada, now he brings disruption into ASEAN alliance ...
7. Israel needs real Churchillian leadership
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.14.18)
When dumb destructive leftists, like Kadmon, speak of "leadership", they mean eagerness to make lunatic retreats and concessions to our mortal "Palestinian" foes. Like the lunatic leftist "leadership" that got almost 20,000 Israelis maimed and murdered and almost destroyed Israel during Oslo.

An increasingly wise and patriotic Israel rejects such sick "leadership". That is why the abominable Labor Party is not so slowly disappearing. Throughout history, real lasting peace has always been a product of victory. WW II is a classic example. Israel needs real Churchillian leadership. The type of leadership which achieves permanent peace by claiming all our land and dealing with "Palestinians" as the defeated mortal foes they are.
8. Bibi and leadership are antonyms.....
Shachar ,   Eilat   (06.14.18)
But to be fair there is no connection between the two conflicts. What may work in one place will probably be a disaster in another conflict. You can't just wish a complex conflict away with a few words. The Israeli/Palestinian conflict won't be solved by leaders, it will only dissapate when the grassroots want it to end...and at the moment the grassroots want war.
9. First check the NYT
Joel Ira Weller ,   Rehovot   (06.15.18)
It seems that the Israeli left is now in such a dreamland that has no connection any more to reality. Even the NYT has come to the conclusion that the 83 year old antisemite Abbas has to be replaced for any chance of peace. Of course this does not change the inconvenient fact that it is Abbas that refuses to meet with Netanyahu, and not the other way around. The left is with nothing else but spewing hatred against Israel's government and of course Trump (how dare him defeat Hillary!)
10. #7 Chaim
Stan ,   Israel   (06.15.18)
Are the "almost 20,000 " Israeli casualties as a result of Oslo? Or did you simply lump them together in the same sentence without so much as a comma.
If that figure refers to Oslo only, list your facts.

Here are a few facts for you. It was Menahem Begin who achieved peace with Egypt by returning Sinai and ending Israel's colonization in Yamit, Ophira and the rest.
So if you had paid attention, you would have noticed that I NEVER write about the need for a leftist gov't. On the contrary, only the Likud can bring peace, because when half that party votes against peace (as happened to Begin) then the votes of the opposition will make it possible.
11. Chaim always blames the left for all our woes
Stan ,   Israel   (06.17.18)
So let's see what really happened.
1982 right-wing government, Arik Sharon minister of security decides to invade Lebanon to destroy PLO who control southern Lebanon, and then without governmental approval invade and capture Beyrut to appointed a Lebanese president who will be a friend of Israel.
Sharon and his henchman, army chief Rafael Eitan, then proceed to carry out a war far beyond what was decided upon by the gov't. A war which was supposed to capture only 40 km in south Lebanon, destroy the PLO who controlled that area, and all this in a few short weeks. That was the mandate received by Sharon from the government.
The invading Israeli forces were welcomed as liberators by the Shiites who suffered under the PLO who controlled the south.
Results of the war: Bashir Gemayel elected president of Lebanon.
Arafat and the PLO expelled to Tunisia.
A GREAT RESULT AFTER A MASSIVE INVASION - JUST AS CHAIM SAYS THINGS SHOULD BE DONE.

Her are a few additional minor facts.
1. Arafat could have been shot as he walked towards the ship that would take him to Tunisia. Israeli officers and marksmen were on a roof overlooking the port. For years Israel had been trying to kill him, why wasn't it done then?
2. Gemayel was killed in a bomb explosion 3 months after being elected.
3. Israel stayed in Lebanon much longer than was planned by the gov't. this brought us into conflict with the large Shiite population and GAVE RISE TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF HIZBULLAH wich then continued to attack the northern cities and towns of Israel just as PLO had done.
4. Israel finally left Lebanon after EIGHTEEN YEARS and more than 1,000
soldiers killed
Is this what Chaim calls a success?
