Nobody who understands these incurable conditions would have the stupidity to place faith in the motives of either of them. Any tendency to believe that either would genuinely place trust in each other would be classed as outright naive if not completely ridiculous.

Both are using each other for glory - and because there's a whiff of financial gain in one form or the other.
