1. Dictatorship Over Palestinians
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (06.22.18)
The status quo is a permanent dictatorship by Israel over Palestinians. That dictatorship breeds risk and violence. It turns out that people don't like living under military dictators. To Palestinians, all Israelis are part of that dictatorship.

People might argue that Oslo ended that. But Oslo has no meaning when soldiers break down a door in Jericho, or bulldoze a home in East Jerusalem for lack of a permit the dictatorship routinely denies 99.999999% of the time. The dictatorship even invades homes in Ramallah and Nablus, killing people who object without remorse.

And the dictators call both talking to European diplomats and complaining to international bodies about their relatives being killed, terrorism.

Since Israel refuses to consider a genuine peace and prefers to be dictators over the Palestinians, Israel will see neither peace nor any reduction in risk. nor should Israel rationally expect either.

cut through all the BS about peace in ME and you learn that you can't make peace with a people that want to kill you or remove you from your homeland.
such threats can make you strong and successful. maybe there is a god after all.
5. What MORE can "Palestinians" do to prove they're mortal foes
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.22.18)
I wonder WHAT it will take for Israel's government to start treating "Palestinians" like the mortal foes they are. It isn't enough that they collaborated with Nazis to exterminate Jews. It isn't enough that all their covenants call for destroying Israel. It isn't enough that they constantly honor murderers of Jews. It isn't enough that they maim and murder Jews every chance they get. It isn't enough they troll the world trying to get everyone to boycott us. It isn't enough they are constantly finding new ways to harm Israel eg. incendiary kites.

What MORE can "Palestinians" possibly do to prove they are Israel's mortal foes?
6. It is patently obvious there is no connection between the
Shachar ,   Eilat   (06.24.18)
NK situation and the Israeli/Palestinian situation. Trump lost nothing by meeting Kim and it could herald the first small change in breaking down NK's wall of hostility. Low risk, well worth a shake of the dice. Here there is no support from the political bases of the leaders to take any risk for peace and there are no real leaders, just seat warmers. As Yoaz writes - the risks here far outweigh any possible benefit the US could shower on the sides.
