Joseph, I take issue with your terms " expropriation and expulsion". If you believe that, you have to also question the legitimacy of the other countries formed by the British Mandate (Iraq, Transjordan, part of Syria). If you are referring to the "nakba" in 1948, realize that a few Arabs at that time fled of their own free will because they were sure that Israel would lose the war, but many also stayed. If Israel had not won it, there would have been no safe place for the hundreds of thousands of Arabic Jews to go when they were forcibly expelled from their homes in Moslem countries.
