Bet HaEmek has a population of less that 550, so 3 single parent families would be at least 6 persons (maybe more) That would be more than 2% of the population. Almost 49% voted to accept these women and their children.
Afula has a population of over 40,000. Will 48% of the residents ever agree that Arabs can live in the city? Both you and I know that the vast majority object.

Usually I agree with most that Ben-Dror Yemini writes, but this time he is wrong describing the kibbutzniks as enlightened racists just because Beit Haemek voted not to accept 3 single moms asylum seekers from Eritrea. Yemini should have known that 40 other kibbutzim accepted asylum seekers and others are also interested. Did Yemini took any asylum seeker to his house?
