Which DOESN’T square with the statistics

Because the MAJORITY of Palestinians

Believe they have been FAILED by their leadership

That the road to a Palestinian state is NOT contingent on Israels military or demographic destruction

That after seventy odd years of conflict...conflict will NOT create a Palestinian state nor peace in the region

There IS ONLY one way forward to a resolution

A viable, sovereign, unified and contiguous Palestinian state alongside Israel within mutually secure borders

Palestinian academics way back in 1999 worked out how but its only a new generation of fresh visionary Palestinian leaders unfettered by ideology that can take us there

NOT the old, worn out politicians who have had their chances and blown it

Oh and BTW: Barghoutti will die in jail.

5. Pal leaders all the same. They just use different words.
Sam ,   Montreal   (07.05.18)
The Palestinian intent is still the same. They want to end the Jewish state. That one or the other leader tries to appear more conciliatory means nothing. It's just public relations. Israel shouldn't be naive as it tends to be.
6. Palestinians, as a whole, appear to be brain-dead.

Talk about total idiots! Arafat failed them. Abbas has failed them. And now they want an incarcerated sociopath as their new leader! If ever there was a signal that the Arabs are not capable of making intelligent decisions, this is certainly it.

What's really sad is that no Arab has the guts to stand up and say, "Let's try something different!" (Probably because Abbas's goons would kill the guy with a few hours.)

This entire episode proves what a corrupt criminal syndicate the PA really is. Time for the Arabs to either become full citizens of Israel and live and grow in peace, or for them to leave the country. You can't have it any other way.

Isn't it amazing that with so many Muslim 'utopias' within a few hours of Israel, the Palestinians refuse to leave? Why is that? It's because life in Israel and 'under Israel occupation' is STILL better than in every other Muslim country! That's the simple truth!

You don't hear about the smart Arabs that went to school, got good educations and good jobs. You don't hear about the Arabs that became businessmen and medical and engineering professionals. Why? Because the PA doesn't want you to. It doesn't fit their narrative. The narrative that happens to be a lie. The PA could have peace in 5 minutes, if they wanted it. Abbas is still fighting the 1948 war instead of helping his people today.

Abbas and his ilk are like the Japanese soldiers who were discovered in South Pacific island caves during the 1970s and who thought WWII was still going on. Abbas, by himself, is holding back the progress of millions of Arabs. The Arabs would do better if the PA simply closed down and Israel took over administration. It's as simple as that. One country- One people: SEMITES. Brothers sometimes have arguments whereby they don't speak to each other for years. It's time these long-lost brothers started acting like family.

People like Abbas, who would rather keep brothers killing each other, needs to be put out to pasture. While enriching himself, his sons, and his cronies, he has hurt millions of Arabs. Time for an investigation of all Abbas assets and then let him tell us how he paid for everything on his salary. That will tell us everything wee need to know about him: a simple crook, just like Arafat, who used 'the occupation' as a means to create incredible personal wealth.

One land, One people: SEMITES. Just do it.
7. Interesting article.

Since reading Nelson Mandela's autobiography "Long Walk to Freedom", it became clear to me that Marwan Barghouti is the right man to lead the Palestinians. The similarity between the two men covers all the requirements for a leader in such a situation.

Both very popular with their people who must accept their authority.

Both pragmatic in their willingness to reach a deal withe "the enemy" for the good of their people

Both were selected to lead the military wing of their organisation in its struggle for equality / independence. ( In SA it was ANC here it is Fatah)

Both were sentenced to life in prison.

When the white gov't in SA realised that Apartheid had no future, they began negotiations with Mandela while he was still in prison. A way had to be found to hand over power to the non whites, while guaranteeing that there would not be a mass slaughter of whites.(Something many whites feared)

Here the problem is less complicated. The establishment of a demilitarised Palestinian state alongside Israel. The disadvantage being that Israel will negotiate with and eventually release a man with "blood on his hands" The advantages are numerous. An end to the killing of Israelis and Jews all over the world. Ending the Arab - Israel conflict, will put an end to Muslim violence in Europe. Enormous sums of money will be freed to improve education, health and social well fare in Israel.

8. Firstly, ALL "Palestinian" terrorists should be executed
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.05.18)
In the first place, ALL "Palestinian" terrorists should be promptly executed. In the second place, "Palestinians" had better plan their evil fictional state elsewhere. We, lovers of Israel, certainly won't let it happen on our sole tiny Jewish Homeland.

10. To Stan (#7), a few comments....

Your thesis is interesting but has a few insurmountable flaws. Let me explain. It takes two parties to make a lasting peace. While Israel wants peace, the Arabs want Israel. This is proven by Abbas's map of what 'Palestine' would look like: it encompasses all of Israel. Israel ceases to exist.

You also mention 'an end to Muslim violence in Europe.' Please, do you really claim that Muslim violence in Europe is due to Israel? A couple million refugees from Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia flood Europe because of Israel? Your thesis falls apart right there.

With millions of Muslims who refuse to assimilate to western life, and with millions of them devote Islamic believers, their atrocities perpetrated upon EU citizens are simply due to Quranic directives: spread Islam until it covers the world, strike the neck of the non-believer, lie to authorities to further your goals.

Looks like Islam never heard of The Golden Rule. Actually, I think Mohammad did hear it. But he changed it to suit himself: 'Do unto others what you WOULD NOT like done unto you.' Rape, murder, sex slaves, beheading, torture, treat women like chattel, jizya, dhimmis, etc. Yes, I think we can all agree that Islam doesn't hold to the Golden Rule.

Peace in Europe has NOTHING to do with Israel, but it has everything to do with Islam. Barghouti will die in prison, you can be sure of that. If Abbas ever allows elections, we can only hope the Arabs use their vote wisely. (But if the past is any predictor, we know they won't.)

11. Mark Sherry for president of "palestine",

as he lies and hates Israel, Israelis and Jews in general no less than any Arabs.
12. # 7 Really? Mandela was an anti semite
BBB   (07.11.18)
and a criminal oops, so is Barghouti.
South Africa today isn't anything to brag about.
Pragmatism is one thing, it can't trump what the God of Israel has chosen a place, a people the Promised land, Israel.
Can't wait for the Third Temple to be built, I hope I live long enough to see that.
Shalom.
