I guess those who propose this bill really do want to become part of the region - but emulating its worst aspects: sectarianism and unending conflict. Not content with the existing tensions and conflicts within Israel - let alone those which characterise engagement with neighbouring countries - let there be more. I didn't realise that Zionism was about exclusion; I thought it was about national self-determination i.e. a response to the exclusion of Jewish people. Instead, it seems for some that Zionism is about aping your oppressors.
