1. Ron- there's info in this article that is best left unsaid
Rafi ,   US   (07.25.18)
Yet another case of the over-talkative Israeli ailment - and which could make life more difficult for IDF in the future...

Is this really necessary ?
2. Maybe not
Ed ,   USA   (07.25.18)
The author might be right, but there is another alternative. The Syrians wanted to know whether the Russian aircraft could evade Israeli detection. Ignoring warnings, they had the pilot fly into Israeli airspace on the way to bombing a rebel position. That way, Syria could plausibly claim it was an accident. Had the plane not been shot down, this incursion would have been followed by others.
3. this question may be naïve:
Yael Camhi ,   Santiago, Chile.   (07.25.18)
I understand NOTHING about war planes, airspace codes, etc. But it saddens me that one Syrian pilot was killed and the other unaccaounted for, due to a navigational mistake. This question may be naïve: Can't there be direct communication alertin the jet it's about to enter Israeli airspace?
4. Would reconsider if it was REALLY unintentional.
Somewhere in Israel   (07.25.18)
You can trust the Syrian to try and break it every once a while in pretense of being a mistake. Their desire over the Golan heights is nothing more than breaking the security of Israel, as all neighboring countries of Israel as proved once and again during the whole history up to 2018. Throwing the blame on Israel while continuing breaking the laws and agreement with International support. That is their very basic tactic.
5. Jews violate neighbor's airspace every day, will burn for it
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN   (07.25.18)
... again
6. Beware of the IDF
Arnie ,   Montreal   (07.25.18)
Whether or not the pilot meant to cross into Israeli airspace everyone now knows it will not be allowed.
7. Ben-Yishai the mind reader
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.26.18)
Am so glad that Mr. Ben-Yishai can read what passed for a mind of a Syrian pilot. Imagine what wonderful stuff he could do with such a power.

Who knew he was so talented as well as being so full of BS
8. A missed opportunity.
Brad ,   USA   (07.30.18)
Israel should've pounded the airbase the plane came from, but they didn't. That's the bad news. The good news is that because of missing the opportunity, more chances will come. May Gods chosen nation give its enemies hell. Amen.
9. 1974 Line Still Valid?
niko   (08.05.18)
How can the 1974 Line still be valid when IDF boasts about having bombed Syria "over a hundred times" and thus unilaterally broken the Agreement "over a hundred times"?
