strong when my husband nearly died earlier this year. How can a mother be strong for her children when her husband dies or is killed? It is wonderful for those who can be strong in such situations, but I am not one of them. Others have to help since Scriptures says, "the strong should bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please themselves." I could be strong for others but when I was hit with tragedy, I could not be strong myself. It was shattering and I needed to lean on others to do what I could not do. Slowly my husband is recovering and is almost well but this widow's husband cannot recover. He is GONE. What I have noticed in the US military is that military Officers often marry a shattered woman who was harmed by an enlisted husband or who lost her enlisted husband to death or abandonment. It is like haShem is giving so much more than was lost. The Officer takes over being a husband and father for the military widows or wrongfully divorced. I have seen that so many times, I see the hand of haShem in the hearts of Officers who do that. Perhaps there is an Orthodox Jewish IDF Officer who can rescue this widow from her inability to go on in strength, having been drained dry by this tragedy.
