I kept reading and reading but not until the very end is there any rationale given for Israeli participation in this celebration, and at that it was very weak. It's not like Israel helped Croatia. Surely there must have been less offensive ways to have shown Croatia Israel's friendship.

It is very disappointing to see our side doing business with Croatians given their tendency to be unapologetic about repeatedly committing genocide and ethnic cleansing of minorities.

Given the WWII history of Croatia, it's very strange to see Israeli participation in their patriotic celebrations. But the Serbs' more recent history removes any justification for them to act like they have moral high ground. Nonetheless, wisest move for Israel would have been to stay out of this.

Israel should stay neutral in these types of displays and they sure as he!! shouldn't go against a country that is fight that same fight as them (against Islamic invaders who seek to steal their land) and a country that has been a good friend to Israel prior to the rebirth!

Ask this simple question: What did the Serbs do in regards to the Jews in WW II and what did the Croats do? The answer has already been stated in their trend!

Croats and Croatia were always very antisemtic, since the days of the Habsburg Monarchy. Serbia and the Serbs were very pro-jewish and Serbia had flourishing jewish communities for centuries. During WWII Croatia murdered tens of thousands of Jews and almost half a million of Serbs. My family was in croatian concentration camp together with the jews and they suffering was the same. When Yugoslavia broke up, Serbia just tried to hold the Serbian lands together since the communist boundaries were just political not ethnical and almost half of the Serbian population ended up in danger of being slaughtered by the Croats or Muslims (in Bosnia). Just imagine what would happend with Jews if Jordan or Syria got hold of the Negev or the North of Israel in your wars! Then you will know what imminent danger was for the Serbs these days in the 90s. The same story with Kosovo, the ancient Serbian land and with all our holy monasteries there representing the "Serbian Jerusalem" of our culture, suddenly under fire from a huge muslim rebellion. Now Kosovo is a place full of Iranians, Afghans and other strange salafist groups. Very sad that Israeli people know so little about our history and even more shameful that your government supported such a military parade that celebrates genocide against a friendly nation!!!!

Explain yourself.
Or are you one of these who still push the tired, stale and many times disproved narrative that anything the Serbs did comes anywhere even the most remote of remotely close to anything which happened in WW2?
Or worse yet, are you an apologist and denier of ethnic cleansing? A quite literal, by every definition, ethnic cleansing of Serbs from Croatia?

After glossing over this and other portals Comment sections regarding this topic, I came to conclusion that there is a swarm of Serb Internet trolls mostly from Belgrade who are trying to convince casual reader from Israel that Croats are antisemitic boogie mans waiting to perform some sort of murderous act, intending to impose well known hate rhetoric of "ancient enmities" in contrast to imaginary "ancient friendship" between Serbs and Jews. Interesting, regardless of how stupid this is and sounds. At the same time these trolls hide to their readers that there is a process going on in Serbia that lasts for three years now, namely legal rehabilitation of Milan Nedić, Serbian Nazi that basically contributed to Jewish holocaust in Serbia. That this is not an isolated case, can be seen in the fact that their church canonized episcope Nikolaj Velimirović, well known antisemite who inspired Ljotić Zbor movement who was favored among Gestapo Nazis in Belgrade (they even have an ordainment for high officials with his name). Ljotić was very well respected antisemitic ideologist and very influential among them, who wrote quite few pro-Nazi books inspired by antisemitism (he is also a nephew of previously mentioned Nedić). Other rehabilitated quislings are Kalabić, Mihailović and others. Particularly interesting is Momcilo Djujic or Đujić since he was serving under Odilo Globočnik in Slovenia and was under denaturalisation program since 1984 as a Nazi war criminal. Instead to being turned over to Croat and Yugoslav legislation, federation fell apart in 90' and process of extradition was halted, but that didn't stop Djujic to establish Chetnik organisation with the help of Šešelj and actually last two Serbian presidents in Serbia and form paramilitia that was responsible for ethnic cleansing of Croats and other non-Serbs from territory of interest (same as in the World War 2). So this rhetoric is quite interesting having this in mind. One thing that should be kept in mind is what they have already done in the 90', namely operation Labrador and Opera, well documented attacks on Croat Jewish communities in order to serve this kind of propaganda.
