1. Israel: A country without a real leader.
DSM ,   USA   (08.08.18)
The citizens of Israel are being shelled, the IFD prepares for "different scenarios", but obviously not one to strike fear into the leaders of Hamas, while Israel's leaders talk about a cease fire. AND WHERE IS BIBI? What does HE have to say about all of this? What does HE want to do about these continued incursions?
2. Don't you just love it: we REACT to a piss-poor Hamas!
(08.08.18)
3. Stop fooling around with them.
Koose E Mack ,   Great Satan   (08.08.18)
Turn it into glass!
4. As long as Hamas refers to Israel as 'the Zionist enemy'....
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.08.18)
nothing will ever change. A ceasefire is a Muslim tactic to rearm and regroup until they are strong enough to resume the fight. This tactic has been used for 1400 years.

The Quran states that lying to the enemy to gain a superior position at a later date is a preferred tactic. Which, plainly speaking, means any ceasefire or truce signed by Hamas is not worth the paper it's written on.

To defer a battle now, while Hamas is weak, for a battle later on, when Hamas has trained more soldiers and amassed more weapons, is not rational. The fact that Hamas snipers were attacking Israelis across the border shows their true intent.

Israel can claim a ceasefire, but the IDF had better redouble their efforts at tunnel destruction and incendiary-kite cell elimination. The immediate and lethal response to the snipers was the correct action. Stay alert and don't trust Hamas for one single second.

The living conditions within Gaza are the direct results of Hamas actions. Tunnels under houses, mosques, hospitals and schools means that the Hamas army will simply disappear underground, ready to surface when they believe they have an opportunity.

Never give them that chance. Every attack by Hamas against Israel should be used as an opportunity to destroy tunnels and observation posts. No more hitting empty targets. Targets should be chosen that have the greatest number of Hamas soldiers. It's high time that Hamas leadership be removed as well. Leaders that only serve to prolong the misery of Gaza should be neutralized. While the rest of the world is afraid to say it, regime change in Gaza (and Iran) would be an improvement.
5. the israeli leadersip can not be trusted
zero zero ,   ny   (08.08.18)
Hamas is laughing at Israel. Every day that goes by without hamas raising the white is a giant victory for hamas.

Israel said that they will invade Gaza. They never did and Hamas is laughing.
6. Cease fire with Hamas
Michael ,   seattle   (08.08.18)
We have been down this road so many times before. Hamas attacks Israel with terrorist attacks. Israel responds as it should. Then Hamas and the world community blame Israel for its response and calls for a cease fire. Israel agrees and stops its actions against Hamas to protect its citizens. This means which Hamas gets to decide to attack Israel and kill Jews again in the future at anytime it pleases, which it always does, because the entire reason for its existence is to attack Israel and kill Jews. If Hamas stops trying to kill Jews it loses its reason for its existence. It is the same thing over and over. There should be no "truce" or cease fire with Hamas. There is no such thing as a truce with someone who is determined to kill you. Israel should attack Hamas and all those who shoot missiles, fly burning kites or send suicide bombers to kill Jews without any breaks and without let up. Don't let Hamas take a breath and allow them to regroup, rearm, and attack Israel on its own schedule.
7. Cease fire with Hamas
Michael ,   seattle   (08.08.18)
And this is Hamas's idea of a cease fire? They shoot missiles when they want to but when Israel retaliates they go crying to Egypt and the UN about Collective Punishment. Then they shoot missiles again. Same thing over and over. There should never be a cease fire with these guys. Israel should attack them without pause or let up.
8. avigdor-you are turning into another bibi
beryl   (08.08.18)
half measures, endless meetings with the idf, you have adopted bibi's modus operandi of band-aid reactions only. ignore bibi and smash the hell out of the gaza provocateurs. eliminate all kite and balloon launchers and their planners- that should be the order.

netanyahu through his conduct in the Gaza operations is a fearful coward who will never take any bold or decisive action. he is scared stiff. Bennett and feiglin are 10 x stronger than bibi who is pathetically weak, on a par with olmert and livni.
9. AND EU WANTS TO GIVE MORE BIZ TO THE MULLAHS SO THEY CAN
Iranian Jew ,   LALA LAND   (08.09.18)
Keep this stupid charade going. Let me guess! IDF will get fed Yupo Wu this, and will have to invade and create a large buffer zone. Of course, bunch of mullahs are going to die in the process, and then the war will stop again for another round on a later date.
10. UNIFIG IS THEONLY REAL SOLUTION .FOR GAZA AS IT WAS UNIFIL
DANNS/SHS Clbrtr ,   MONTEVIDEO   (08.09.18)
WE CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND TO MR ANTONIO GUTERRES HEAD OF UN TO CREATE IN THE SCURITY COUNCIL REALM THE UNIFIG MISION OF PEACE OPERATION FOR GAZA IN THE SAME WAY THAR WAS ESTABLISHED UNIFIL IN LEBANON -ISRAEL BORDER .UNIFIG IS AN ACRONYM CREATED BY ME PERSONALLY FOR THE PEACE OPERATION MISSION OF UN IN GAZA STRIP .IT MEANS THE UNITED NATIONS INTERIM FOCE IN GAZA STRIP IN THE BORDER BETWEEN GAZA AND MEDINAT ISRAEL WITH A STRONG DEPLOYMENT OF AT LEAST 7.000 UN BLUE CAPS UNIFIL HAS AROUND 10.000 UN BLUE CAPS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE THE SITUATION MAY BE DETERIORATING VERY QUICKLY DESPITE THE EFFORTS OF EGYPT AND UN ENVOY MLADENOV
11. My peace plan...
NITZAKHON ,   New Hampshire   (08.08.18)
For every mortar, level a house at random. For every rocket, five houses. For every tunnel, a city block.

If they still don't get it, then give them what they want: their martyrdom, and carpet bomb the entire thing into powder.
12. Why are lights still visible in Gaza?
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.09.18)
The people allow Hamas to dig tunnels under their homes and use use their homes as weapons stores- they support Hamas. It's 100 degrees in the shade. Blow up their power plants and let them enjoy the fruits Hamas has delivered.

In the miserable heat, I imagine a good number of Gazans will use those weapons hiding in their homes against Hamas.

Hamas is the neighborhood bully: it keeps on poking and poking and poking trying to show everyone how tough and powerful it is. It's really time for Israel to take the bully to the mat and teach it a lesson.

After a season of fire-kites, sniper assassinations, and rockets, Israel must must say 'enough' very loudly. That means hitting every known Hamas tunnel, safe house, training camp, etc., simultaneously.

Does anyone really think that the USA would allow Cuba to shoot random rockets at it? Or Canada? Or England? Why is Israel the one country that isn't allowed to properly defend itself?

The IDF should line up a hundred 155mm canons and let loose a barrage that Hamas will remember. and every time another rocket enters Israel from Gaza, another barrage should be sent back.
13. Hamas is not impotent Assad, Hamas will fighjt back
Khalid Amayreh ,   Occupied Jerusalem   (08.09.18)
14. Killing innocent people will NOT help you
Hamada ,   Gaza   (08.09.18)
Yesterday Israel Occupation army killed 2 innocent people, and apologized few hours later, which does not mean much to the victims families.

Now, they shot and killed a pregnant woman and her year old daughter! And when you read Ynet talkbacks, they are ALL exclusively asking for a total destruction of Gaza. My comments to that are:

1. You need to look yourselves in the mirror and see how HATEFUL you all are

2. If your so-called leaders could have, they would have, so spare us the BS and go hide behind your keyboards.

Lift the siege on 2 million people or live like this forever!!
15. this BS story just never ends
Cameron   (08.08.18)
This weekly madhouse scene is the endless price you pay for shying away from the Gaza work called for.

Anyone else on the planet would have rolled full strength into that kind of pesthole and put the scrub on these fanatical groups.

These holy warrior dipshits will give you no rest until you do the military necessary.

We'll back you in full, come what may, but you must ACT!
16. Pathetic Israeli response
Ardeth Bey ,   Detroit   (08.09.18)
Not sure even if Israel takes mass casualties, if they will really do anything. This is a totally pathetic government that in essence is doing zero, e.g. firing at empty fields and buildings etc.
17. Iran testing iron dome
Avi L.   (08.08.18)
18. Bombing empty structures, again
Fredrik T ,   Gothenburg   (08.09.18)
Perhaps time to start targeting the leadership of Hamas and other groups instead. Next time they are gathered for some kind of public mass gathering, send a Hellfire missile as a final greeting.
Good thing that they at least return fire on the snipers rather than wait for them to escape.
