American/Israeli Jew here. Has it occurred to you that the conservative reform movement is a dying movement? Young Jews don’t connect to Judaism or Israel by extension. Those that are carrying on the traditions of both believe in conservative,religious values. The people of Israel do what THEY choose and shouldn’t beinfluenced the least by irrelevant Jewish organizations clinging for life.

So you can understand why they are upset that Israel is reaffirming that it is a Jewish state. Their only attachment to Israel was when they were young and their Temple collected money each week to grow a tree in Israel.

Once upon a time Israel was filled with secular Zionists happy that they had their own state away from the prejudices of the Arabs or Christians.

Today Zionism has been taken over by the religious that believe that planting an Israeli flag on the hills of the West Bank is more important than anything else; whist the ultra religious Haredim that say that they are NOT Zionists, are included in every government .

Israel is thriving, and succeeding beyond anyone's wildest dreams. Been there lately. Seen the hustle and the bustle, the intergration of society.
The Left are opposed to anything that does not give Israel to the Palestinians. The young Jewish left of the US know nothing of Israel's history, or Israeli society today. Its a shame, but thats the reality. Israel will continue to grow, with or without their support.

They don't know that Israel has a visa free travel with Russia. They don't know that ISIS is a product of USA. They don't know why they can afford bigger cars, expensive education suposedelly financed by commercial banks, they don't know why the health system is more costly than in other developed countries, they don't y know that only five people control their media, they don't know and don't care that 10 times more people are jailed than in all other countries, they don't know why they lead the stats on traffic deads, they don't know why they are involved in wars all the time, they don't know why Iran is supposedly bad, but Saudi Arabia is good, they don't know that in Ukraine is a fascistic junta in power protected by USA, they drink sugar water with hormone meet and wonder that they get ill and fett, they think that Putin is bad because he is not following American interests, ... Shall I continue? Short, they are the greatest and know every thing better, that's why the American Jews know better what for Israel good is and thy are very upset that Jews want to live in a Jewish state, because 22 Arab counties are not enough. But they think this way not because they are stupid, or else.. They think this way because they live in the same bubble as all other Americans do. Israel can handle it, since it will continue to do what is best for Israel's interests, even if some don't know or don't care...
