At the end of the day, not seing the woman in kimono would not greatly distress me. Only rotten artists appear on the Eurovision these days. One would have a "bearded woman" as a "(political) idol" or not so sexy elephantine. The times of ofra haza is long gone
Whilst it would be nice to have Eurovision in Israel the government should not fund it considering the huge cost and the fact that tit is unlikely that its going to result in a huge increase in tourism etc as this is something that happens for one night and is not a major sporting event etc. Its a European music contest that people like to watch at home and laugh at the various acts they do not all rush abroad to go watch it live.
Better to either not go ahead or put it our to tender and let a privately owned channel fund and air it if they think they could make a profit.
