1. If he gets anywhere NEAR that position it'll be time to look
(08.13.18)
for New Jerusalem somewhere far away.....
2. morons and shlemiels everywhere
(08.13.18)
sad, suicidal.
3. Comparing Israel to Nazis/protects terrorists over citizens
(08.13.18)
And idf supports him? Do we have any leaders who are working to protect us anymore? Meanwhile our country is burning because of these so called leaders cowardice and inability to do their primary job to protect their people from the enemy.
4. Comparing Israel to Nazis is the EU definition of Jew hater=

5. Y. Golan: considered one of world's top military tacticians
Rafi ,   US   (08.13.18)
He's brilliant, brave & has demonstrated enormous integrity
6. He is unfit
Daniel ,   Ta - il   (08.13.18)
I served under golan. I experienced a self righteous piece of sh.t, who trampled on his soldiers to boost his inflated arrogant ego. He was the kambatz of the tzanchanim.
7. gen golan
mark   (08.13.18)
first obligation of the idf is to defend the state. laws of warfare have to be followed. idf does not want renegade soldiers.

so the idf does not target kite and balloon throwers who are combatants. is this defending the state-the answer is no.
a woman runs at idf soldiers. she is told to stop. she does not. given that so many Arabs wear explosive belts, then she has to be shot to disable her. it may turn out there was another reason for her running and not stopping but who could tell.

civilians should be kept out of it but any no of civilians happily support Hamas until they are caught. they celebrate wildly when Israeli toddlers have their brains smashed in.

gen Golan may be an excellent soldier. the problem at times stems from the pm and defense ministers' orders. they are routinely vague and stupid-quiet for quiet. if golan were directed to rout Hamas, he would have to undertake it or resign.

gen yaalon also was very philosophical like gen golan making some harsh statements.

there is no peace, there will be no peace so such dreams are in his tuches.

gen golan. the order is to beat the enemy convincingly until he begs for quiet. if you can't do it, then you should not be a candidate for chief of staff.

had we known that eisencott would not target arsonists, i would not have appointed him chief of staff.

right now, the idf and Lieberman are dumping the problem onto Israelis in the south, saying live with incendiaries, mortars and rockets. avigdor- you should bloody well admit it and stop being so pompous-you are wrong!!!
8. We're not in the clear yet and this candidacy is proof of
(08.14.18)
that: the Jewish, collective mind has not yet purged itself of subservient, galut-thinking.
That abomination of an IDF leader should't still be in the army by now, no matter how "brilliant" tactician or musician he may be!
9. 13 soldiers sided in jenin due to this moral relevativism

10. Reference to Milgram experiment
N ,   N   (08.14.18)
The Milgram experiment showed that even compassionate people can be quite easily masterminded to participate in cruel acts. (Google "youtube Milgram full documentary".)
I think that he (like almost every other commander) knows about that classical experiment and he's (like many/most commanders) quite wary of it. How can anyone condemn him for awareness?
Ignorance isn't bliss for a commander!
11. right-wing smearing on an honorable officer means a priori
Rafi ,   US   (08.15.18)
the man must be extremely capable...

His record is one of great courage and upholding the highest values of IDF. So there's the problem right there.
12. Right wing: not satisfied until Elor Azaria is Chief ofStaff
Rafi ,   US   (08.15.18)
He's the hero and Gen Golan the villain in right-wing mythology
13. IDF is immoral
Bar Star ,   Jerusalem   (10.28.18)
until a peace in the South is restored. They should kill all the jihadists and the civilian population that supports them in Gaza. That would be just and moral. Our morality comes from the Torah. Our secular military leadership is clueless what morality is.
