The man was never a zionist and he certainly did not want to see the creation of a JEWISH STATE - what he believed in was a state where Jews would live as equals in an arab majority binational state. He did not even like the fact the country was named Israel when he found out what it was to be named.
Whilst he may have accepted the idea of 2 states he never hid the fact that his ideal solution was either a binational state or a federation between Israel, the Pals and Jordan, the idea of a Jewish state where Jews are the masters in their own land was never a big priority for him.
The man went to meet with Arafat even when he did not pretend to be anything but a terrorist and since oslo he has campaigned for a Pals state, he has never once sided with Israel so the man is a traitor and its just a pity he was around so long.
