1. Separation of State & Religion
dorians fund ,   Tel Aviv   (09.04.18)
Eurovision is an international competition and event and is not about religion or political views. If Israel wants to host this event, they need to make the proper accommodations.

If I were a participant or an attendee, I would want to be able to come for the event over a long weekend, such as Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so I can combine this with my days off of work, Rating are also crucial to the event and this should not be hindered.

Israel can accomodate or pass on the event.. The demands made by Eurovision are correct for the event and the broadcasters. Israel is given first choice to host the event, but they can decline.

I think it best that Israel decline to host the event and pass on the opportunity because it will become one big political hot potato and Israel will end up looking bad.. so the best thing is to simply say that we can not accommodate this type of event and let it pass.
2. That's a tall chutzpah, if I ever saw one!!!

3. Dorian's fund completely correct- either
Naor ,   Jerusalem   (09.04.18)
Israel hosts this event and adheres to the ruling of the Eurovision or if Israel is going to start with political or religious interference then better we don't host it at all - now is the time to show we can host these sort of events without the religious parties and Miri Regev sticking their noses in.
Unfortunately I am not very optimistic and hope it won't be a major embarrassment in the end.
4. Take it or leave it?

The insistence on holding the date on Sabbath is an insult.
The organizers should be embarrassed but are too ignorant or too crash to know the importance of keeping Sabbath as they strong arm Israel into submission.
5. Oh come on now- its always held on shabbat or
Naor ,   Jerusalem   (09.04.18)
Saturday as it is through the world and has been held since 1956!
Don't start with the crap that its a complete surprise. As I guessed better not to hold it at all!
6. EBU - my suggestion is to have Eurovision in Tel Aviv - if
barbara ,   Haifa   (09.04.18)
you don't want interference from religious parties, as it will take place on
Saturday night. We all know that candidates, etc. will be practicing on Friday and Saturday. Also, any and all incoming aides, workers, family members, audience from abroad will arrive earlier - Tel Aviv is recommended for their amusement and accommodation without the religious factor interference.
(Jerusalem is too staid).
7. please be in haifa
(09.04.18)
israel should allow the people who dont want to participate to step back and democratically allow those to step forward who want to participate, every shabat is already like this depending on where u go/
8. If Israel must allow bds antisemitism entry we must decline
(09.04.18)
This was reported to be one of the requests. Bds supporters allowed entry. If this is the case it is more dangerous and should be a bigger factor than Shabbat desecration. They will try to hijack the event not to mention the insanity of allowing those who don't recognize Jerusalem to go there if thats the location, those who support the destruction of our state entry to cause harm for both sides.

EU already openly fund Nazi level education of Palestinian children, payment to terrorists based on a per-jew murdered raise. Steal Israeli public land at a whim and

even applauded Abbas poisoning our wells blood liable in the European parliament.

We cant give into any off their irrational requests. If that means giving up a music event we should have some integrity..
9. Skip the Event
Tova   (09.04.18)
Israel doesn't need to be bullied to hold this event. There is no separation of religion and state. Both are one and part of the same. If this event is held on the Sabbath - then no country will ever respect Israel. And Israel will be forced to abandon all religious holidays. It will come.

When Jewish athletes refuse to compete on Sabbatthen Israel should refuse to hold the event on Shabbat. Many famous athletes earned the respect of their non-Jewish fans.

Israel must not bow down.
10. Declare it Pikuah nefesh and be done with it!

12. World will BDS JewNazi Eurovision, cheating has backfired

13. ISRAEL MUST NOT HOST EUROVISION
zionist forever   (09.05.18)
Its going to cost alot of money to host and probably make a loss, its not going to generate alot of tourism because people do not travel abroad for Eurovsopn the way they do a major sporting event.
What it will be remembered for is the politics because every BDS activist and Israel hater will take advantage of the EBU rules on freedom to travel in Israel and enter the country and they will use Eurovision as a platform for getting political messages across. ... Imagine Roger Waters coming to Israel for Eurovision where he would give speeches on camera about how bad Israel is.
Israel is not even part of Europe so should not even take part in the thing anyway.
