All these Arab leaders can parrot is the same line Arafat and Abbas have been puking out for decades: "....with East Jerusalem as its capital."
Hello? President Sis and King Abdullah, no other country in the known universe has split its capital for any reason. Israel is not about to start.
By repeating this comment, ad nauseam, you two have locked yourselves into a reality that will never ever exist. Once you give up on this fool's errand, peace will come quickly.
Maybe the King would like to split Amman and give half to Israel? After all, the mandate included what's now Jordan.
With Sisi and Abdullah still playing to the Arab street, nothing constructive can happen. They only persist at it because if their own people thought they were going soft on Israel, they would revolt and topple the governments.
What we have here are two leaders who are terrified of their own people. Two leaders who are too weak to tell their people, "We're making total peace with Israel. Jerusalem is not being divided. Ramallah or some other city will be the capital of Palestine. Now let's move on peacefully and bring prosperity to our countries."
But, as we all know, Arab leaders are weak and fear their own people. They only have the threat of the army to control them. They'd much prefer to continue the charade than to risk civil war at home.
Which means everything is up to Israel. The Quran never mentions Jerusalem by name- something the Torah does hundreds of times. If the Muslims so cherish Al-Aqsa, then dismantle it and move it to Ramallah or Amman. Dig up the rock under it and ship it to them as well. Let's be rid of it. It's just a building, nothing more. It's really time for Sisi and Abdullah to start behaving like leaders and steering their countries into the future, even if some of their people are unhappy. That's what leaders do.
