The weakest link in any strategic planning is reliance on the US.
Donald Trump is an emotional yo-yo on the best of days... He'll likely be all for Israel attacking Iran - but only if at no cost to the US...
His erratic policy toward NATO shows that he CANNOT be relied upon to provide American strategic support against Iran or Russia.. Israel needs to plan accordingly.

Israel's security challenge from Lebanon is caused 100% by our mad retreat from our South Lebanon Security Zone. Our security challenge in Gaza is caused 100% by our mad retreat from Gaza. Our security challenge in Judea and Samaria is caused 100% by insanely ceding major parts of our 4,000 year old ancestral heartland to our mortal "Palestinian" foes. The real answer to virtually ALL our security challenges is to reverse our mad retreats and concessions which caused them in the first place.
