1. Traitors
rom ,   israel   (10.14.18)
Shai Nitzan is wrong.

Those who denigrate national values and symbols, and who subscribe to any of the items described above, would in any other country be indicted for treason and would be most severely dealt with. They should not receive one agorah from state funds.
2. LET'S MAKE IT PERSONAL!
FO ,   Belgium   (10.14.18)
Those who verbally "support armed struggle and terrorism" must be allowed to do so in accordance of freedom of expression! This is what you say, Mr. Nitzan! Dear Mr. Shai Nitzan, suppose for a moment that a "cultural association" declares that you must be assassinated. In accordance with your notion of freedom of expression, you must not only protect this "Fatwa" against you, but assure the financing of said "cultural association". I think seriously that some Israeli institutions need urgent psychiatric help!
3. Legal concern for terrorists and calls for genocide?
(10.14.18)
Only in Israel is treason OK, or amongst rhetoric left where ideology is above human values and the rights of citizens.

4. Nitzan is full of it and knows that: Private institutions
(10.14.18)
can spit on all the symbols they wish to.
They can do it on their time& with own money.
Freedom of speech is not threatened here, it’s funding with MY MONEY that Regev wants to stop.
Fully justified.
5. Miri likes to see herself talking! Politicians, what a show
Tehraniporou   (10.14.18)
Another law of that calibre could preclude women in their 40a to become minister and only those in their 30s and tight dresses. At least the visual pleasure of the public would be preserved since wish list are fashionable. Israel under nutsyyyyyahuuu should not forget the democratic of character do the state. Thankfully the judges are there to reign in the baboons turned politicians
6. I will enact a law whereby female ministers can only appear
Tehraniporou   (10.14.18)
in bikini black stockings and with a cigarette
7. Miri Regev is right
Alexander Scheiner ,   ZY, Israel   (10.14.18)
why must Israel, with the MONEY OF TAXPAYERS, fund those who oppose its liberal democratic values? When they are abroad, they demonize and defame Israel!

Some of these UNLOYAL citizens cause Israel financial and political damage.

If they carry double citizenships, I believe they must be deported to their country of origin.

8. We must tread carefully...
keren tzafon ,   Tzafon israel   (10.14.18)
Whilst it is definitely an attractive proposition that my tax dollars will no longer fund people who "denigrate national values and symbols", I am concerned about who will decide what constitutes denigration and what constitutes national values and symbols. So even though commentators say that the denigrators have a perfect right to free speech as long as it is also free to the taxpayer, I can see the funding going awry depending upon who is sitting in Miri's seat. The Culture Minister, with the aid of this law, can decide whose voice gets most heard. So instead of funding denigration we could end up funding pap!
9. Cultural stage is not a podium for expressing un-patriotism
Michael ,   California, USA   (10.14.18)
Israel is still developing its brand of patriotism, is still formulating its particular ways of expressing loyalty to the country. Artists who are paid for their appearances must not use the stage for expressing their personal and biased opinions. Artists must uphold democracy through being professional and unbiased. Of course they have the right to be biased in private. Minister Regev is correct by demanding loyalty to the country from Israeli artists who engage in public appearances.
