1. Devorah the Prophetess
Gavriel Rechov ,   Swingate, UK   (10.25.18)
Horvat Devora and Daburiyya are located on the western slope of Mount Tavor, the sacred place where the prophetess Devorah, the woman of G-d who from Bethel judged Israel for 40 years, finally defeated Sisera, the Egyptian general of the Canaanite king Jabin, probably the best military commander of the epoch. Undoubtedly, she must have been a very special woman in whom the holy flame of the Almighty constantly shone, to the point that Barak refused to face the Canaanites if she wasn't permanently at his side along the battle.

And in Tavor, a few thousand resolute Jews armed with slingshots and crude spears, under the visionary leadership of that enlightened woman, won an impressive victory against the appalling number of invincible squadrons of the state of the art Egyptian chariots of Sisera, along with the cavalry and infantry divisions afforded for the Canaanite kings who owed him loyalty. And all of them, without exception, after seven frustrated attempts, were defeated, slaughtered and dismembered on the banks of the Kishon River. After that Israel lived in peace and prosperity for forty years, the joyous years of the Devorah term.

The Tavor event had to stay engraved with fire in the collective memory of the tribes of the area because, it is said, in that same place, twelve centuries later, the Christian messiah was transfigured in light surpassing in brightness the same sun at the zenith of the day, and he even deigned to politely invite Moses and Elijah to witness the prodigies he was doing there.

Due to the lack of written testimonies about the Varus evangelization campaigns in the area, I would invite Francis to plan a trip to Tavor, so that together with the infinity of pilgrims and penitents who want to accompany him, he explains us with high and clear words about the nature of the events that took place there 20 centuries ago. An invitation that, as is logical, I extend to our dear founding fathers, so that we can all participate lovingly and fraternally in such a great festival of light and sound.
