2. no doubt that netanyahu is weak
hy   (10.22.18)
we have yossi beilin and concessions to thank for this stupid agreement. bibi will do nothing to extend agreement. why would Jordan agree to extension when they know bibi is a weakling.

Israel should have claimed the provinces of Ruben, mennaseh and gad as ancient lands belonging to it. Rabin like bibi was too worried about having an eastern front.

Israel has got to replace netanyahi with Bennett. bibi is harming Israeli deterrence big time.

But it will impress the Jordanian people as to the power of their king. Let's face it, if another war ever breaks out and Jordan is stupid enough to join in on the Arab side, Israelis will be having shwarma in Amman when the dust settles. That's the simple fact.

As for the displaced farmers, they knew this day might happen and for 24 years they've had a good run. All good things come to an end. Pack up and leave.

But fair warning to Jordan: if any terrorist activities originate from these areas, the King and Jordan will be held totally responsible. In simple language, keep your new border lands quiet, or else. Any militarization of these areas will be met with unrelenting actions to demilitarize them. I hope the King understands this. His tough talk will evaporate in his face if Israel has to take these lands to provide quiet for the country.

By appeasing his vocal subjects, he may have opened the door to something that he will not be able to control. He may have inadvertently initiated the end of his reign.

I think those farmers could use a little help to find new farming land. A good idea might be to ask yesha council and Yossi Dagan for help and advice.

"The Mandate for Palestine" voted unanimously by all the 51 members of the League of nations the 24th of July 1922: Article 25: "In the territories lying between the Jordan and the eastern boundary of Palestine as ultimately determined, the Mandatory (Britain) shall be entitled, with the consent of the Council of the League of Nations, to postpone or withhold application of such provisions of this mandate as he may consider inapplicable to the existing local conditions..." that means that in International Law and reaffirmed by Article 80 of the United Nations' Charter the territory between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights remained Jewish real estate to build their independent country in formation! Last but not least, as the British Mandate ceased to exist the 14th of May 1948, Article 25 of the League of Nations' Mandate became null and void! As a result Naharayim and the Tzofar enclave ARE Jewish-Israeli property. Even more: Israel could by law request and recover territory from "Jordan" a country artificially created by the British.
