Any agreement mediated by Egypt will only be temporary and war will resume once Hamas resumes it. Little will be lost in mediation, as it will drive a permanent wedge between Fatah and Hamas. No one will contribute aid to Hamas, only to see it destroyed once war resumes. That is called "donor fatigue." Once war resumes, the IDF must pummel Gaza into oblivion to make Hamas less capable of fomenting future wars.
