The only victory possible through force was the overthrow of hamas. Once that was done the only possibility was to give power to palestinian authority, fatah. But would they acept it? Let us imagine they did not. Israel would be handcuffed to gaza with constant attacks against idf. And the according loss of life in both sides. Now let us imagine fatah would agree to rule gaza. Israell would not be better off. Israel would face a reinvigorated palestinian authority rulling west bank and gaza and demanding the isolation of israel untill its demands are met. Hendel is 100% right. Israel was intended to be a strong, gutsy little VICTORIOUS nation. But we have lost our bearings. Instead of treating "Palestinians" as the defeated mortal foes they are, we BEG them to talk peace. This is truly sick! Let the IDF win! Let Israel win! End defeatist B.S. forever! This tiny land is ours. End of story.

The way to 'win' is to make it not worthwhile for anyone in Gaza to attack us. I think that there is a relatively simple way to do this.
1. Close the border. Entirely. No water. No electricity. No 'humanitarian' supplies. Nothing. If the Egyptians are interested, they can ship whatever they want into Gaza. Including weapons. Who cares? (See point 3.)
2. For every projectile that crosses the border from Gaza, whether missile, rocket, bullet, grenade, bullet, or rock, the Air Force will destroy 1 square kilometer of Gaza, working inward from the border. Scorched earth. Anything moving in a scorched earth zone will be shot on sight.
3. If the Gazans attack the border, we will be at war, and we will decimate them.
4. Inform Hamas, the PA, the UN, the USA, and anyone else who cares of these policies.
5. Ignore the world's reactions. They lost the right to criticize Israel many years ago.
