1. NO Imbecile Kleinberg. Arabs need to feel they lose badly.
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (11.14.18)
2. Israel needs to reconquer the Strip
Steve Benassi ,   Plymouth, MN USA   (11.14.18)
It will cost some lives, but in the long run will mean less headaches.
3. Very Wise Article
Basmala ,   Gaza   (11.14.18)
Israel should give hope to Palestinians, there is no military solution to the conflict, lasting peace requires both sides to recognize each others rights and coexist, and both in dignity.
4. This is our sole tiny Homeland. Israel can and MUST WIN!
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.14.18)
Like usual, Kleinberg writes nonsense. Israel could defeat evil fictional "Palestine" easily. All it would take would be to simply end the mad flow of Israeli food, money, electricity, work permits etc. which keep the abomination afloat. It would barely take a shot. This is our sole tiny Homeland. Israel can and MUST win! If "Palestinians" had their way, they'd happily massacre us all, and everyone knows that. Total Israeli victory is the path of sanity.
5. so Israel has to offer hope. But it doesn’t
Arnie ,   Montreal   (11.14.18)
What BS. Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005. Palestinian leadership should have picked up the ball and run with it to build up Gaza. Was that not their hope , their desire. Well it seems it was not. Instead they continued their assault on Israel from a closer venue.
6. MR
Eliyahu Kitov ,   safed   (11.14.18)
This article cries out for the erudite author to explain why Israel fears thousand of casualties in a war against gaza. -against 5 countries in '73, well armed with tanx and planes, we took 3000, - against a small terror group whose main weapons are home made innaccurate rockets, not even 100
7. The need of a final solution
Amos ,   White Rock   (11.14.18)
In my opinion, Israel needs to totally subjugate the gazans, occupy it and move jewish population into it. The Gazans will ether learn to live among israelis in peace or move out. this idiotic game Netanyahu is playing is absurd.
8. Obama was the excuse- what’s it now?
MadDad ,   Johannesburg   (11.15.18)
Leaving a small festering wound open could
lead to an infection that spreads and kills the body
If Netanyahu is scared rockets will rain on telaviv now imagine how bad this will be in 10 years time
If they can shoot 400 rockets today how many in 10 years time
Postponing a problem will only make it worse
9. a) fighting in built-up urban areas is EXTREMELY costly
Rafi ,   US   (11.15.18)
b) Gaza is NOT an existential threat to Israel.

Conclusion: the cost/benefit of full IDF invasion is just not there.

Israel govt is wise to take other military & diplomatic steps to keep pressure on Hamas WITHOUT incurring heavy IDF casualties
10. This is not the real end of the Gaza charade, then WHY, for
(11.15.18)
Pete's sake???!!!!!!!!!!
11. Endlösung
Ruben de Groot   (11.15.18)
There was another giant state that wanted a final solution. Not so long ago. The failed as well.
12. the existential threat is the genocidal Shia terror regime
C   (11.15.18)
netanyahu is not exclusively to blame for the situation in gaza.

the weapons in gaza are mostly provided by the terror regime
of iran.
when netanyahu wanted to eliminate that regime, many in
the defence and intelligence establishment opposed him.
meir dagan said that obama would take care of iran.
meir dagan is resting peacefully for eternity while israel bleeds.
13. As a chess player I really enjoyed the article
Shachar ,   Eilat   (11.15.18)
Aviad is an excellent writer, his ideas refreshing and his delivery subtle. Unfortunately they have little chance in the current situation. The last thing Hamas wants is a better life for Gazans. Gazans have one hope only, the hope this generation grew up on and dedicates it's life to- the hope of destroying Israel. Everything we allow into Gaza will be used to this end, every time we give in to terror we fill them with hope. The only that this will change is by erasing that hope...
14. Gaza is a Demographic Threat, and can never be defeated
Steve Benassi ,   Plymouth, MN USA   (11.16.18)
... except by killing the almost 2 million people in Gaza, this is something Israel is unwilling to do, history would punish Israel like it does now with the Germans for WW2 and the Holocaust.

Israel's War of Attrition in Palestine and in the Arab and Muslim world, can't succeed because Jews are outnumbered 100 to 1.

The best Israel can hope for is a Liberal Democracy where minority rights are protected in a Constitution similar to the US Constitution.

2 States 1 Country, a Federal and State system, in Palestine Israel is the only fair solution that both sides should be willing to accept, for Peace to prevail in the region and in the world.
15. A difficult solution perhaps.
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn Holland   (11.18.18)
Israel is still almost surrounded by the so-called "islam" world-caliphate alas. Israel has one of the most human, modern, efficient and effective armies and police-force (on our planet).ALSO SECURITY AND PEACE FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND ISRAEL.
