It seems that Arab wealth buys media's sympathy worldwide, and it is rewarding its benefactors by demonizing Israel. The general public is brainwashed with lies, and many are convinced.

These spoilt privileged brats need to spend time in Israel not as molly coddled tourists on some subsidized school tour but to experience life living here under constant threat of rocket, knife , car ramming and random other terrorist attacks. A large majority of the Jews living in Cape Town are affluent compared to the general population so these spoilt brats grow up in a cacooned environment and rarely get to mix with other less privileged sections of the population. From the day they born the most strenuous activity they do is wipe their own rear ends. The rest is done by maids picking up their dirty clothing dumped on the floor, washing their clothing, washing up their dirty dishes etc. They are delivered and collected from school by mom or dad or by private transport . Their co scholars some from other population groups are in general from affluent homes as fees at their school cost more than University . One questions their true reasons for taking the knee during Hatikvah. My bet it is to try to gain acceptance and "self preservation" from the large muslim population living in Cape Town who like the ANC government are anti Israel. They can be compared to the few Jews during the Holocaust who in order to save themselves co-operated with the Nazis.

It’s not wise to criticize Israel this way when you’re surrounded by those who don’t simply disagree with Israeli policy, rather they disagree with Israel’s existence. Your proving fodder to Israel’s enemies, not well meaning critics. It’s not about free speech but rather realpolitik.

Those students forget that in South Africa, they are nothing. I was a contributing, socially concious member of South African society. I received awards for my contributions to dignity and the voluntary work I did which saved anyone, irrespective of race. Due to the demographics, most of my indigent patients, who received voluntary services were black.

In my days at Witwatersrand Joburg University in 1960s and 1970s ,Jewish Students would rush to support anti White Government Demonstrations in favour of the African Population. Today the latter population is not so Jew and Israel loving.despite all this.
