Israel is a wonderful country, but this is its ugly side. It is not so much about racism and more about how Israelis treat each other. Nothing more. I am Jewish. No conversion issues in my family since the Inquisition (a non-issue for Israel). I saw Jews from the Diaspora mistreated in the IDF and in Israel simply for being different. Officers did not care. I was not the worst one off either. This is a problem with Israeli society, nothing more. Blacks are accepted in Israel, but there is a minority of Israelis (and it could be sizeable) that simply are jerks and sadistic to anyone else whom they do not like, period and end of story. Just do not give up.

The letter must be from a Rabbi from a major denomination who actually knows you and has real knowledge of your being Jewish, with this requirement most of Israel would not qualify to live in their own country.
