In the aftermath of the 2006 Lebanon War, which Olmert and the IDF generals bungled, Israel and Lebanon, agreed to cease hostilities and abide by UN1701 which required the disarming of Hizballah and the removal of all military forces except UNIFIL south of the LItani River. Hizballah violated the terms almost immediately while UNIFIL turned its eyes away. Then and there Israel should have taken action.

Now its 12 years later, Hizballah has installed thousands of missiles south of the Litani and has been building attach tunnels for years.

Hizballah is playing the long game. Israeli deterrence is a joke. War will come once Hizballah/Iran decide that the odds for victory are acceptable. Sad. Very sad.
