3. The Left solutions are as delusional
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (12.14.18)
Two States in any form is not a separation.

Arabs will still be too close to Jews and will launch terror attacks into the heart of Israel. No arrangements can change Arabs murderous intentions.

The solution to the is not just a border but a far distance separation meaning millions of Arabs must be moved, transferred, expelled hundreds of kilometers from Israel's borders.

Until the international community realizes that the status quo will go on in more or less it's current form for a long time.

6. One country, two states.
David ,   Hartford USA   (12.14.18)
In the country of Israel, there will also be the state of Israel and the state of Palestine. The Palestinians can have their own state government, but no laws will abrogate any national laws. All citizens will have full rights nationwide. Anyone living in Palestine may move into Israel and anyone living in Israel may move into Palestine. 'Nationalistic' crimes will result in mandatory life sentences.

abbas wants a Jew-free Palestine, which will never happen. A Jew-free Palestine is simply another Gaza, where psychopaths flourish and jihad is worshiped. The Palestinian education system will be monitored by the countrywide educational board so that no antagonistic bilge makes it into the Palestinian schools.

This entire plan should be voted on by all residents in the west bank. If accepted, peace will come. If rejected, the Arabs will remain on the same path that they've been on for 70 years, no peace, no growth, just more stagnation and wasted lives. The Arabs of the west bank need to make a choice- give them the opportunity. They can't ALWAYS make the wrong decision, can they?

complete destruction of the Jewish State.

10. Demographic problem can be traced back to Ten Spies
Bar Star ,   Jerusalem   (12.14.18)
It was 3300 years ago. It has been successfully resolved by Joshua and his army. The same solution was tried again in 1948 during the War of Independence. And it worked. This is how we have our state. What worked in the past will work in the future too. Now we have to replace modern Ten Spies who work in our government as security advisers with people who have a wisdom and understanding.
11. Lefty
בועז   (12.14.18)
You very eloquently destroy an effort to move forward but without any counter proposal. As a former security advisor I would have expected something s little more academic rather than an all out assault on Shaked. This the academic left, all talk and no suggestions other than handing over our land to the Palestinian entity.
12. Too much over complication
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.14.18)
First
The only VIABLE Palestinian State is a UNIFIED CONTIGUOUS and TOTALLY SOVEREIGN state CENTRED AROUND the rich resources of Gaza - coastline, desalination potential, fishing, offshore oil and gas, ports, hub and gateway to North Africa, tourism, Islamic heritage at its heart unlike the West Bank which has virtually no natural resources in comparison

Second
Creating a sizeable and expanded Palestinian territory centred in Gaza configured from land exchanges, transfers and purchases and the establishment of NEW cities of New Ramallah, New Qalqilya, New Tulkarm, New Deir al-Balah etc in PEG - Palestine in an Expanded Gaza that are so fundamental to Palestinian identity

Third
The gradual relocation of Palestinians over a period of say ten years from the West Bank to the Palestinian State (PEG) by sale and disposal of property and businesses at full market value plus the considerable international aid and support and compensation for each individual Palestinian West Bank family and those in the diaspora wishing to make a new life in the new Palestine in the expanded Gaza (PEG). This alone would represent HUGE inflows of private money into PEG that could provide an unprecedented boost to the Palestinian economy

The PEG Plan so called was conceived by Palestinian Academics in 1999 during the heady days of the Oslo Accords as by far the best solution for a truly successful and prosperous Palestinian state alongside Israel within mutually secure borders but never saw the light of day. All the proponents its believed have since passed away..is it not time Palestinians took OWNERSHIP of their legacy?

13. transfer only option
sykespicot 2 ,   manchester   (12.14.18)
The two state solution is not an option as it was and will be an existential threat to Israel as history has proved.Annexation without transfer is also not an option for the reasons given in the article. After the WW11 twenty million ethnic Germans were ethnically cleansed in Europe to create peace in Europe, so the only realistic option is transfer.Transfer is a prerequisite for peace as when you have two different groups such as Sunnis and Shias it inevitably leads to conflict as history has proved.. This can be done after Israel has eliminated the threat in Lebanon and Syria with a land invasion ,Syria is suffering from a deficit of Sunni Muslims which can be alleviated by transferring Palestinians to a new Palestinian state in southern and eastern Syria . financed by UNRA and the Gulf states This new Palestinian state can have a seaport and airport in Beirut with b a land corridor to Damascus and will include north Lebanon ,Assad can keep the coastal strip and the coastal mountains Southern Lebanon should be annexed to Israel .Saudi Arabia and Jordan are Jew free so why should any fair minded person object if Greater Israel is totally Jewish especially if it achieves peace in the Middle East which is what we all want
14. The writer of this article is delusional!!!!!

15. stop searching for solutions
C   (12.14.18)
the war between arabs and israelis is a war of religions: shia and sunna
against each other, and both against the jews.

this war cannot be solved as long as political islam, spearheaded by its
precious islamism is alive.

we do not expect muslims to give up their religion. what we expect
is the demise of political islam spearheaded by jihad,

jihad is at the heart of islam with its supremacy doctrines and unmitigated
imperialism which demands submission from the infidel.

submission cannot be accorded to the jihad loving muslims.
muslims must come to us and lay jihad at our feat.

we had defeated nazism, fascis, communism, maoism.
we now must defeat islamism, political islam with jihad at its core.
16. Somewhat true, but mostly a lie
Yosi ,   Jerusalem   (12.14.18)
If Barah and Oldmerd and all the fanatical leftists hadn't desperately tried to bring in so many arabs, we wouldn't have as many as we have. Mostly the left tries to make straw man arguments, but when they can, to prove themselves right, they will go to despicable lengths, to do this. You pull us down to the sewer of your ideology to our common disaster. Shame on you.
17. "National aspirations of the Palestinians" What are they?
Steven Gilbert ,   NJ   (12.14.18)
To live in peace in their own state side-by-side with Israel?

1. There were never any so-call Palestinian national aspirations articulated prior to the establishment of Israel?

2. The UN offer of two separate states, one Jewish and the other Arab (not Palestinian on Nov 29, 1947 was accepted by the Jews and rejected by the Arabs.

3. All offerings of an independent state, to Arafat in 2,000 and Abbas made by Olmert in 2008 were rejected.

So what is the national aspiration of the "Palestinian" people? Answ: Nothing short of the destruction of the State of Israel.
18. 78% of "historic" Palestine is Jordan is writer ignorant?

19. End mad Israeli support and watch "Palestinians" flee!
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.14.18)
The simple and 100% workable solution is for Israel to claim all our land and end the mad flow of Israeli food, money, electricity, materials, work permits, protection and other Israeli support which enables our mortal "Palestinian" foes to squat on our land while plotting our demise. No other nation, in all of human history, had been crazy enough to voluntarily support its foes. It is way past time Israel stopped being history's biggest suckers!
20. Take a REAL census of "Palestinians". Budget their departure
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.14.18)
It is clear to every rational observer that "Palestinians", and their dim witted leftist Jewish enablers, vastly overstate the number of "Palestinians" on our land. We need to take a REAL census. There are probably less than half the number the P.A. claims. If we are to believe P.A. figures, there are half a dozen "Palestinian" cities the size of Tel Aviv in Judea, Samaria and Gaza that nobody has ever seen! Ludicrous.

Once we have a real "Palestinian" census, we can create a reasonable budget to foster their permanent departure from our land.

23. To Big Troubles, Cool Solutions!
Gavriel Rechov ,   Swingate, Kent UK   (12.14.18)
According to the data that I've been able to consult, the construction costs of a solid state-of-the-art border wall, including land expropriations and underground anti-tunnel sensors, amounts to 2 million dollars per kilometer. Therefore, if the length of the diverse walls to be made were of 1,700 km, the total cost would be 3.4 billion dollars. Undoubtedly it is a huge number, but it needs to be analyzed carefully.

In the first place, an investment for this amount would create many jobs for the Jewish population, which would translate into an increase in the sales of consumer goods and, therefore, would imply a strong increase in the revenue from taxes, which would reduce the initial budget by 25%, lowering its price to 2.6 billion dollars.

In the second place, I consider it very likely that Israel could obtain a bipartisan financial assistance from the US Congress covering a percentage of 35% of that figure, which would reduce the final budget to 1.7 million dollars, still a very important figure... but which only equals to TWELVE F-35 stealth fighter planes, including weaponry, shelters and underground bunkers.

The first order of this type of fighters by Israel is 50 units, a number that can be expanded by 50 more units. With the money of the 100 units, Israel could build a barrier from Tel Aviv to Seoul, S. Korea, and when it was finished it would only be one third of the Great Wall of China. However, no one in Israel objected a word to the purchase of the fighters despite its unbelievable price.

With these numbers in mind, I come to ask the author of this article:

Do the 800,000 Israeli citizens living in Yehudah and Shomron deserve to live in peace and security 24 hours a day for the price of only TWELVE F-35 stealth fighter jets?

Mrs. Shaked's proposal isn't just castles in Spain, as the author suggests, but a well studied, necessary, realistic and perfectly possible project.

But I don't want to be excessively negative with the author of the article, because I share with him the most important part of his article, at least for me.

I also believe that Minister Shaked is a highly talented woman, with a potentially far-reaching political future, probably the most valuable political asset of the State of Israel.

25. When the Left destroys Israel.
PLINIO LISBOA ,   Agua Boa BRAZIL   (12.15.18)

Shaked's idea is very interesting and realistic. The big question is: It does not matter what agreement is made. Even with all of Samaria and Judea and still Gaza, 100% of Palestinian terrorists. Yes the vast majority of them are criminals. In no way would it diminish its 3 objectives of life: 1st to exterminate Jews. 2nd destroy Israel. Extinguish the country and take its territory. 3 ° To carry out terrorist attacks and slaughters of Jews that still existed if they have the power in the country of Israel.

Every Israeli should know 3 things:
1 ° Most Israeli Arabs are internal enemies.
2. The colonization of Samaria and Judea is the only real solution of peace. In a region that shows weakness leads to the end. Peace agreements by EARTH, just made terror return to ISRAEL. This is what the Left gave to Israel 1993. This is what SHARON gave to ISRAEL by betraying the people. Prior safe areas today are becoming more and more dangerous. The south of Israel; Ashood, ASQUELON for example. ISRAEL WILL ONLY HAVE PEACE when colonizing the entire section of the Jordan Valley and making major urban axes in Samaria and Judaea in every sense; east-west, north, and south. RODOVIA 60 is a backbone that should receive large Jewish settlements and large and densely packed cities connected to Israel's most consolidated area! Israel must also devote itself to absorbing and generating more Jews by religious conversion and aliyah. It should encourage even more Orthodox Jews to populate Samaria and Judea.

Perhaps by seeing the concrete and irreversible reality the Palestinians can be "moderate", which does not mean peaceful, will never be. It is necessary to rescue those who have Jewish origin from among them! It must be shown that there is only one acceptable national identity, a flag, an anthem, an army.

But Israel works against security and PEACE of self when:
- The death penalty does not apply to terrorists.
- Does not apply to total demolition or 100% of houses of terrorists.
"It does not apply perpetrators of terrorists and releases them with light feathers.
- It does not expel the country's terrorist families when a terrorist relative kills Israelis.

The newspaper article works against Israel.
