How about installing Video Cameras there? How about night lights, full length and higher concrete barrier? How about stopping open traffic there from ramalla?

The place remains vulnerable & dangerous because no one cares enough to do more than talk. Talk is cheap.

5. The answer is simple
Stan ,   Israel   (12.19.18)
All the suggestions being made either exist or would not work. We have thousands of Palestinians in our jails whether they are guilty or not. We spend millions on operating collaborators who enable us to keep the situation under control most of the time.( when these collaborators are burnt out we move them and their families into homes in Israel's Jewish cities like Afula and others.) We use the world's most advanced technology to know what is happening in the occupied territories. The only thing we have not been able to do, is to force the Palestinians to give up the struggle to achieve independence.
35 years ago in its battle against the PLO, Israel supported a new organisation in the Gaza Strip which seemed to be less political than Fatah. That organisation became known as Hammas, who is as we know more extreme than the PLO.
Those Israelis who would like to see the annexation of all the occupied territories, will tell you that the Palestinians will never be willing to live alongside us in a separate state and will quote the collapse of the Oslo agreement. They ignore the fact that the outbreak of extremist terror attacks
in 1994 began after Baruch Goldstein carried out the massacre of Muslims at prayer in a mosque in Hebron. This fact is always conveniently forgotten.

Our Prime Minister is not stupid, unfortunately he is also not brave. He is frightened to go against his power base, the golem he created to enable him to become Prime Minister, and which he continually feeds with incitement to remain in power.
Our vastly superior military power and technological genius are not enough to guarantee quiet in the occupied territories the only way to achieve that is through a negotiated settlement
If Israel were to spend 20% of the time and money it puts into its propaganda war against BDS, it would be able to achieve an agreement which will bring quiet and long lasting peace. Some of you will say that there will still be terror attacks after such an agreement. You may be right, these attacks may continue for a year or two or even five. Put things into perspective, every year people die here because of terror attacks. In 2017, 18 people died, and this year the number is about the same.Over the past 50 years over six thousand Israelis have died because Israel didn't know what to do with the territory it had occupied.
A peace agreement which includes the withdrawal from most of the occupied territories, and which leaves the vast majority of the settlers in their homes is a possibility. Such an agreement would not be an existential threat to the continued existence of the state of Israel. Even if 50, or 100 Israelis die in the first few years following such a peace agreement, the end result will always be that we suffer less casualties than if we continue the occupation. Politically economically and militarily Israel has much to gain from such an agreement. An agreement which leaves the Wakf in control of the Temple Mount as has been the case for the past 50 years,, will guarantee that all Muslim countries including Iran will no longer have a "Casus Belli" This applies also to Hezbollah.
Such a peace agreement would enable Israel to transfer enormous sums of money from military needs to where it is much needed in health, education, and social security. In all these areas despite Israel's wealth, the country's achievements compare very unfavourably with other developed states.
