1. not so sure
David   (12.27.18)
There's a logic to it, but I think there's a limit to the stability of a 61 seat coalition, and there may also be internationally motivated considerations (related to the "deal of the century") for the election timing. At the end of the day, the decision before Netanyahu was whether to call an election now or in 7 months. And I suppose that for a number of different reasons, he felt now was a better time. He also probably preferred to call the elections himself, rather than have the coalition collapse under unfavorable circumstances, like during the Bennett ultimatum last month.
2. The Netanyahu "era" is just beginning. With or without the

man himself.
It's global, it's encompassing Western countries, that slowly are coming out of their post WW2 stupor and realizing they've almost lost their freedoms.
It's the Trump-era, Brexit era and hopefully end of "Global Warming"/Al Gore- swindle era!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Shame!
Rephael Rechitzky ,   Toronto   (12.27.18)
Shame to anyone who votes for this corrupted man as a Prime Minister. Potential criminals should not run, but be cleared first. This is the most corrupted man in Israel's history to run for this position. There should also be a limit on the times a person can run for this position. He is a BAD man, so vote another person and get out of the religious fanatic group that controls Israel by far too long.
4. it goes on and on
geroge   (12.27.18)
there is a point at which the investigation seems to go on forever for the sake of investigating.at some point, the AG has to decide. if he cannot, then drop the investigation. fair is fair. if you have something, fine. if it is insufficient, then drop it. the investigations have been going on forever.there is a certain unfairness in having investigations into perpetuity.

IN EVERY STATE OF LAW ,THERE IS A RULE SAYING : AS LONG A PERSON NOT IS CONVINCED OF ANY CRIME ,HE IS PRESUMED TO BE INNOCENT.

THE QUESTION IS : ARE THOSE JUDGES, PROSECUTORS IMPARTIAL AND INDEPENDENT.

WITH ALL THOSE PUBLIC STATEMENTS WE MUST ADMIT THAT THOSE PERSONS HAVE ANOTHER "(POLITICAL ) AGENDA AND ARE ALL BUT INDEPENDENT AND IMPARTIAL.

6. Mandelblit worked under Netanyahu
Shachar ,   Eilat   (12.27.18)
It was borderline accepting him as AG, he certainly shouldn't be taking any part in decisions on Bibi's cases, that should be left to the 2nd in charge, the chief prosecuter Shai Nitzan. Once the procedure is cleared of "interested parties" we can have a clean charge sheet ready within a month.....and an election without the drama queen Bibi.
7. Jews protect Jews, the corrupt, the pedophiles, the criminal
Steve Benassi ,   Plymouth, MN USA   (12.27.18)
... then wonder why the world hates them.

Actually, factually Bibi didn't stop governing and call for an election, but actors out of his control, Lieberman, Harreidim, Bennet, lapid, each acting for his own interest caused this!
9. The hoax investigation is the real crime
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.27.18)
Bibi will almost certainly become Israel's longest serving Prime Minister. He has been under almost constant investigation practically his entire tenure as Prime Minister. With NOTHING discovered to warrant investigations. REAL investigations don't last indefinitely. The hoax investigation is the real crime.
10. AG has dawdled long enough
A Simple Jew ,   Beer Sheva   (01.05.19)
I would fire the AG for dereliction of duty. These criminal probes have been dragged on for years. The AG should have decided whether to indict many months ago. His inaction has been unjust both to the nation as well as to Bibi. No more screwing around. If there is a real case against Bibi for corruption, present it now. Otherwise, clear Bibi's name, once and for all.
