So long as they done need to spend any money.
Notice how everyone is ready to defend the Kurds right to the last American buck
2. The US has its own problems. Kurds like Israel must find a

way to survive by themselves. There was no way for 2,000 American soldiers rescue the Kurds. Clearly, US will not go to a World War for the Kurds, nor will it do it for Israel.
3. MAGA
DSM ,   USA   (12.28.18)
Trump's allegiance is to America and the country's military. Not to any other country or group. He understands it and so do most Americans, excluding Democrats who would hate Trump if he discovered a cure for every disease known to man.

Trump abandons his Allies so how can Israelis believe in him.
6. Russians or Iran ?
Ronnie   (12.28.18)
Cake on a plate. Would you rather have Russia, civilised and reconstructing Syrian. Or mad mullahs ranting for the death of all Jews on the boarder. The other mad Jew hater Turkey is another option. Russian and Israel has something in common, surrounded by hate and threats of war and invasion.
When you get your head around that you will see the light. With regard the fake news about a $3B Chinese port investment and the Cabinet and IDF knew nothing about it? Fake for real zombies LOL
7. delusional
David   (12.28.18)
This article is filled with delusional garbage. It is right to criticize Trump for withdrawing from Syria, but the praise for Obama is overwrought, and completely disproportionate from reality. Yes, Obama ultimately took some action in Syria, but after agonizing years of refusing to do anything, and it was not for some noble reason that he committed this sin, but because he was courting the murderous tyrants in Iran. Yes, he ultimately recognized that Erdogan was problematic, but after years of seeking his favors-- even describing him as the world leader he admired most in the entire world! I can only attribute this failure to come to terms with reality, on the author's part, to the perennial disease of self-hatred that afflicts the Jewish people. Any good that Obama ultimately did in Syria, was only after considering, and exercising, every possible bad alternative first.

Tova   (12.28.18)
Trump did not betray the Kurdish people. The United States is not responsible for the wars that are in the middle east which began thousands of years ago.

It is time for the US to get out of the middle east. Trump and the American military cannot forever fight the wars of other nations. Israel has always stood alone against her enemies. Russia, Iran, Turkey and Syria will always
continue with war. The US must make her own country strong again.

Politics will not solve the middle east problems. Netanyahu is not to blame either. Netanyahu has been one of the strongest leaders Israel ever had.

What you are seeing now is the end of days for the middle east. Russia will attack Israel. Russia needs control of Israel and is doing that by joining Syria, Turkey, Iran. These words are written in the Torah and in the Gospels.

Even if Trump kept the troops in the middle east - they would surely loose the battle. There is a paradigm shift happening. And this will be the generation that will see the battle of megido come as prophesised by the prophets.
12. The prescience of the Right/religious coalition.
steve ,   beer sheva   (12.28.18)
Once again the Right/Religious coalition are correct in their assessment of world affairs. They all hailed Trump as the great lover of Israel and they are right!
The man has stepped aside and allowed Israel to take care of Syria so Israel will get all the credit! The Right and the Religious are always right - thank goodness that they are governing us .
13. Trump never made commitment to stay in Syria after IS defeat
Jake   (12.28.18)
Never did he promise the Syrian Kurds a long-term presence.
Never did he promise Syrians or anyone else a deeper mission beyond the defeat of IS.
Syrian problems are long-term and endemic, and not America's to solve and not solvable by America.
Only those who have grown accustomed to America acting as babysitter and global cop would interpret Trump's decision to withdraw troops as "betrayal".
14. Trump’s political program:

2% make an abrupt decision just because he can.
98% brag about journalists criticizing him for it.

Expert   (12.28.18)
How can there possibly be any problems in Middle East, just because America withdraws? I thought Islam was a religion of peace. Could Trump actually have been right that we should bar people from certain countries from doing their "peaceful" thing in the USA? What is going on? This is so confusing.
18. Told you?
Avi L.   (12.28.18)
Now what is extremely disheartening is that what anybody with normal neural function is able to see the writing on the wall but not King Bibi The First?

Bibi put Israel in the worst situation since 1973

Bibi is not good for the Jews
19. Mr
Joe ,   Earth   (12.28.18)
Israel should do the right thing by the Kurds and airlift them into Israel and provide them citizenship and full voting rights.
20. Obama created ISIS
Tova   (12.29.18)
Obama gave Iran 150 million dollars. lying to the American people claim the money is being used to help the poor in Iran. And yet Iran never paid the debt it owned to Americans for the bombing of an American base in the middle east.

Obama knew full Iran would take the money and use it to create ISIS. Obama wanted Iran to be powerful, join Turkey and Syria.

Trump must bring home the troops. The US does not have the power to influence the middle east and Trump is smart to recognize that. The armies of Russia, Syria and Turkey and Iran cannot stand up to America.

Israel like always will fight this war on her own. Trump is the President of the United States that is his first responsibility. Obama is the evil that created ISIS for Obama himself is a hard core Islamic by religion. Just because Obama's mother was catholic and his father is Islamic doesn't make Obama
catholic. All of Obama families in Africa are Islamic.

This situation is not good for the Kurds - but again Trump is not responsible.

22. Trump and the Kurds
Jimmy ,   Arcadia ca   (12.29.18)
Sorry but Israeli intelligence has shown and on record that the Kurds are selling oil directly to Assad. So in goes our policy it's crap. The Kurds dug their own grave and you think we do not know they ate selling oil to Assad? Strategically this actually gives the U.S. and Israel a better advantage militarily and freedom to operate. You armchair think tank wannabes have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Our generals are holdovers from Obama. Mattis got fired because his thinking is old school. You hear nothing from Bolton on this, why is That? All this reporting from Isreali and U.S. publications are so liberal left leaning. Isis IS not a threat anymore, give me flipping break. If you believe all this I have something to sell you
