Not only Israel will have to balance it's national interest with the desires of the wanna be hegemony in face of its agony.
Germany made it clear, that's not USs business to decide where it gets its energy from.
It's Israels vital interest to have good relations to all major powers.
If USA would be a real friend, it wouldn't ask Israel to choose between left or right arm.
But Israel is for the anglo-saxonian US elite just another vassal.

when natural disasters or emergencies strike, Israelis are the first to arrive with search and rescue, antiterror, and medical help.
debate and questioning is fine-but never forget 2 things- what a great country Israel is, and always, always be self reliant in defense and defensible borders. security must never be passed onto someone else.

Everything ,and I do mean EVERYTHING these days is " made in china " and very little we buy says " made in the USA" and ,while it is understandable that America is less than happy with this state of affairs, it should learn to accept it as the rest of the world has accepted it. And Israel is isolated enough , it should not further isolate itself and if Uncle Sam is not please ,too bad .

As the author rightfully points out, Israel is doing well here to tread between the raindrops. Keeping and fostering good relations with USA, Russia, and China is key; especially in times of neo-cold wars. Let the superpowers duke out their disputes between themselves, and better avoid being caught in these quagmires. To paraphrase the famous quote from the movie Wargames: Diplomacy is a strange game: the only winning move is to not take sides.
