We changed to eating organic fruit and veg about five years ago after watching a documentary about the amount of pesticides used.
We not only tasted the difference but we all stopped getting coughs and colds and generally felt much healthier.
We haven't looked back. ( We recently moved to the UK and continues to eat organic)
It's an absolute disgrace that the Israeli government is not controlling the use of these poisons. The future generation will suffer from this.

I knew all that from living in North America 30 years. Therefore we never bought anything NOT organic. Always organic vegetables, and no fruits except bananas and avocado. On the list of most contaminated vegetables and fruits by EPA(environmental protection agency) Strawberries and other berries and obviously grapes are the most loaded with Pesticides. Bananas and avocado the least because of thick peel. Article does not mention that the gardener sued MONSANTO Corp. for his cancer, because MONSANTO is leading producer of GLYPHOSATE, the main component in pesticides. GLYPHOSATE is widely used in Israel - EVERYWHERE, on crops, in parks and gardens...etc. SO, if you have a dog, do NOT walk him/her in parks.
We're bombarded with terrible pollution outside too, from millions of diesel cars. In US and Canada there are NO diesel cars. ONLY TRUCKS. Buses in Toronto for example, are either electric or hybrid for at least 10 years now. But Israel imports ALL the garbage in the world, including these shitty little Mickey-mouse DIESEL vans from France and Italy to keep poisoning people and environment. The whole country is poisoned with chemicals and smart people doing very well when they leave it.

I lived on moshav Bnei Tzion for nearly 2 years, and I saw the farmers spray the crops often. Also, the farmer who owned the meshek that I was living on, regularly sprayed my garden with RoundUp to get rid of the weeds. After watching him spray for about 3 hours non-stop, I finally asked if he spraying against ticks and he told me no, against weeds. Later that day my little dog became ill and died at the vet 2 days later. The vet said he had been poisoned, and said that on any moshav there are so many poisons that are used that it could have been any one of a hundred different poisons. Very sad. Our moshavim hide a very dark side behind a facade of healthy living.
