You did a great story. Many young Jews travel elsewhere and try to become someone else. It's a journey many young people do. This is similar to the Prodigal Son - The end of the journey he realizes his true home and returns.

When a child is deeply rooted in his faith from a young age, He/She will eventually return. This story also demonstrates that people from different backgrounds can get along and live well today. It is when war comes a person decides who he/she must choose. And most Jews will defend Israel.
