1. Does Israel want to experiment with these 4 ex soldiers with
Alan ,   SA   (03.06.19)
ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE of handling International situations and relations.. They never won decisive mini wars anyway.in Gaza or Lebanon anyway. So where are they hot stuff.. They should go into business as Mercenary bosses in Africa or South America or join Israel Weapons Sales setups as travelling salespeople Let them teach Krav Maga in Upper Volta or Niger.. That is their line of expertise._not doing the type of stuff that Bibi EXCELLS at..... BIBI IS A BISMARCK !If Israeli voters vote for them because of Bibi's socalled GRAFT then they will regret it very much .'... very very much-for SURE. Israel should keep Bibi in cotton wool , never mind all these rubbish indictmentsGOOD LUCK TO ISRAEL IF ELECTORATE VOTES FOR THESE 4. I wish I could send a big brown envelope to Bibi for looking after us Jewish People.. I dont support Bibi for his nice smile but for what he does daily and the International respect he has garnered.

3. The difference of generals.
DSM ,   USA   (03.05.19)
If you are in love with the idea of a general running the country first determine if the general made his star as a result of battlefield results or politics. What Israel needs now is not necessarily a general but rather a brave leader not afraid to use the military, when it is called for, and general not afraid to fight when called upon to do so. This may leave out Ganz.
4. CLEVER MOVE

During the last elections Netanyahu presented himself as Mr. Security. That mantle is no longer viable opposite three chiefs of staff
5. Soldiers do not make the best politicians
zionist forever   (03.05.19)
The reason we have so many senior military candidates is because for a retired general politics is like the next natural promotion and they are running the country just same way as before retirement they were running battlefields.
The military though in most cases do not make good senior ministers because they have the narrow minded military focus but in politics you need to be thinking outside the box and deal with everything from finance to foreign affairs. In the case of the Gantz Party the man is a total rookie and apart from Ya’alon and Lapid non of them have any political experience. It’s a party of rookies and thats not good for the country especially if it’s the PM. We need a more mature political system to reflect the fact the country is nearly 71.
6. Dumbest opinion editorial of the month
Joseph ,   USA   (03.06.19)
Please. Someone explain to Mr. London that because of the draft in Israel almost everyone to be involved in any aspect of Israeli society is very likely to be an ex security official. And he got publish? Uggghhhh. They probably even paid him
7. Israelis" "obsession"
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn Holland   (03.06.19)
It is up to the Israëli electorate/people, to elect those military people, or other people and parties democratically, to rule Israel after the coming elections. Perhaps these peoples can prove as well as being good generals as being good politicians, if they will get the opportunity Being a good general is of course something different than being a good politician, but perhaps both are possible, in a free country Israel.

10. Generals are Used to Ordering People to Get Their Way
Jake ,   Dallas   (03.06.19)
And not used to building coalitions and not used to justifying their decisions. It is no surprise that Gantz was a total flop in business. He probably thought you could order someone to make 20% profit margins and they would say "Yes Commander" and it would be done.
11. generals
Larry Liss ,   usa   (03.06.19)
realize israel s population produce more former officers then america the united states have stopped electing presidents with military service since bush sr they just do not want to run for the office i exclude bush jr he was only a part time reserve never went to war
12. They are ex-generals, private citizens....
Shachar ,   Eilat   (03.06.19)
they bring their resume like everybody else going into politics does. To get to the top position in the army shows two things- leadership skills and an ability to run a large complex organisation. These two attributes just happen to be what you need to run a country too....that is why generals are considered good candidates.
13. Every retreat was carried out by military PM = more terror
(03.07.19)
14. Would Israel voters support Bibi to be Chief of Staff of IDF
Alan ,   SA   (03.10.19)
Being COS is a position to be reached after years of training in one of the arms of IDF. Here we have a group of enthusiastic amateurs with no political experience whatsoever. They are used to taking orders from the Political echelons. So maybe they would not know how to handle pressure from someone like Obama or the next US DEMOCRAT POTUS.(who will no doubt pander to the Olim Chadashim-like the triplets) Remember Bibi played Obama for 8 years and in end Obama still stuck a knife in Israel's back.Being PM of Israel is NOT a vocation for ex generals .after they have handed in their kit.....Like post 13 says every retreat was carried out by military PM=more terror. They should go to Puna in India like all the troops after service and relax there. BTW I saw Eisenkot also wants to go into politics!!!
15. Yossi Cohen of Mossad would be the only security person
