It should be up to voters to disqualify a candidate not some non elected bureaucrat.

Kahane never backed terror, self protection - yes. Balad is anti-Israel and pro-terror.

It's all too easy to ban any attempt at regaining sanity, in the face of Islam's hostile takeover of Western societies and our own debilitating dependence on the "Peace-drug".

Using this law you could disqualify all the religious parties (they want a halachic state) , all the Arab parties and pretty much everyone that opposes the current system. But the judges made it clear that only in extreme cases would they allow disqualification. It is up to the arab voters to get rid of Ballad, it has done absolutely nothing for them, and the right wing voters to ignore Ben-Ari whose antics are for the cameras only.

Israel needs a judiciary that is nominated and operates like the US Article 3 judiciary. No other laws like the “override clause” are necessary.
The shocking thing is that I just read a Haaretz price that said Shaked’s reforms to make the nomination process more like what it is in America would “destroy the checks and balances between the branches in Israel’s government”. Lol. This is insane.
1) today Israel has no checks and balances, it’s a parliamentary not presidential system.
2) why would being more like the American constitution “destroy checks and balances”?
I guess when you dwell in the dark mind of a leftist...
