The United Kingdom is going through one of the most dramatic moments of its history, times that, in a sense, are even worse than those experienced during the two world wars of the last century, which fought and won because the British united in solidarity before the adversity and they had a blind faith in their leaders, two things that nowadays don't happen anymore.
The current political landscape of Great Britain is as disconcerting as sailing on a ship where all the compasses of the bridge have lost the north, each one pointing in different and even opposite directions to the others.
The day of final judgment is there and nobody knows what will happen the day after. Some say that everything will be better than ever, but there aren't few who fear that the number of unemployed will surpass the worst records of the past. No one shows them an outlet for the immense isolation that looms over. The Empire's shipwreck is imminent and a large majority think there are no lifeboats for so many.
So distressing state of things has moved to the streets. The first cause of so many murders daily, not to mention the number of disastrous fires, is due to the anguish of a people who are numbing their fears by resorting to alcohol, tranquilizers and drugs.
The incredible thing about this thriller is that being things clearer than an immaculate crystal, nobody can see beyond their noses because of the demons of the past.
In this way, it's possible that the moment has come for one of the most outstanding people in history to sit in the rightful place. I'm referring to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, that admirable Lady who seems to possess the secrets of immortality, eternal youth and inexhaustible common sense. Because it's she who is responsible, as Head of State, Head of the Anglican Church and Commander-in-chief of the British Armed Forces, to open the door of the future indicating the path that both British people and her next in line to throne must follow. Only impeccable sovereigns like her can do it, because only they are trustworthy.
For my part, I've the strongest conviction that she'll make the right decision, marking a before and after in history. Behind her, a huge task-force awaits her signal to raise up the United Kingdom to its rightful place.
