Sothside ,   New York   (03.26.19)
This article would do well if it was headline news on the Haaretz website...utter dribble and left wing nonsense!
2. BEHEAD ham !
Moshe Israel ,   Tivon, Israel   (03.27.19)
Its true that the previous skirmishes with ham did not achieve a cessation of terrorist attacks from Gaza.

Is this because the hams was not BEHEADED ? ! !
To kill a snake it is far easier to crush the head even, just be careful of the fangs...which are stupid, but DEADLY !
3. Oh grow up Ben-Dror
Volvi   (03.27.19)
Reconciliation, disarm?? by Hamas you say. Saying that you have little comprehension of who your enemy is. Like offering ISIS the same terms. True another waste-less operation is not called for but rather a major operation to remove all terrorists by deportation and re-liberate Israels land and yes govern the area. Ben-Dror time to grow up.
4. Don’t be kind to the cruel
The judge   (03.26.19)
Giving money to Hamas is similar to how at the start of WW2 Russia sent materials and food to Nazi Germany in the hope that Germany wouldn’t attack them, with Stalin after Germany invaded Russia stating “what have we done to deserve this?”
5. The most foolish thing I’ve read in a long time.
Cushi ,   Brisbane   (03.27.19)
To buy peace!!! One dose not deal with the devil, the only way to neutralize Hamas is to cut the legs it stands on the hands that fire the rockets and then put it out of its misery like a lame horse
6. Sick, sick, sick! I wish Yemini was joking
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.26.19)
When I read an article like this, I wish the writer was joking! In any other state besides Israel, Yemini's proposal, to shower our terrorist murderers with support, would be met by well deserved calls to have his head examined.

But in Israel, unfortunately, some people take it seriously. I don't know whether the cause of this thinking is idiocy, a death wish or both. But Israel REALLY needs to end this sick, sick thinking. There is only one sane rational way to treat our mortal foes. Defeat them totally, permanently, and assert our rights as victors. Retake our land forever.
7. What next? A nice lucrative arms deal?
Curious george   (03.27.19)
8. Who Cares!
M ,   USA   (03.26.19)
When Israel does what is proper and correct for the safety of its citizens, there will be no issues regarding public perception. The UN and its cronies will always criticize Israel. Who cares what the world thinks? We will be respected only when we take care of our own. You will see quickly that when Israel takes necessary action without concern over "public perception," our enemies will quickly respect us. And that's the only way to stabilize the situation.
9. World opinion will not change
Mike Stand ,   Philly   (03.27.19)
World opinion has defeated Israel time and time again because she allows herself to be influenced by it. World opinion will never change. So, ya do what ya gotta do. When have the Palis ever, ever, taken an olive branch as anything other than a sign of weakness??
10. Keep your panties on Yemini
Mark Sherry ,   USA   (03.26.19)
Netanyahu doesn't have the stomach for any such operation...apparently, you fell for the pre-election "tough on security" rhetoric.
11. MR
Eliyahu Kitov ,   safed   (03.27.19)
Sir, Hamas has never done anything to make a person think they respect weakness, yet here you are trying to buy them off, over teaching them painful violence. The result will be to encourage them to supply us with painful violence because they have no respect for a nation that does not resort to violence. they do not see us. That said, it should be noticed that the way to fight unconventional warfare is by being strong and principled, not by radiating weakness as our supreme court for one does,-as do our journalists.
12. solution
שמואל. פוקס   (03.26.19)
Only surprise assassinations of key terrorists. Every week someone should be assassinated from general downward.
13. Yes: more generous incentives to the Muslim thugs: ata boy
(03.26.19)
DROR!
14. Yemini is descending into the nether regions of political
(03.27.19)
insanity, but that's his prerogative...
15. "Yeminism" reaching a new height. How does such brain work?
(03.27.19)
I REALLY would appreciate understanding this obsessive -compulsive political myopia.....
16. lifting blockade is a reward for terrorism
avrom   (03.27.19)
Lifting the blockade and a seaport would be a victory for terrorism and strengthen Hamas which would be bad for Palestinians ,Israelis and peace. It would encourage Hamas,Hezbollah and Iran. Doesn't make sense to me..
17. Ben-Dror Yemini, seriously ?
Outoforder ,   Copenhagen   (03.26.19)
"neutralize Hamas’ propaganda capability by generously offering economic benefits for Gaza if Hamas disarms" ???

How many times during the past 30 years a peaceful solution was offered to Gazans. Disengagement in 2005. Economic incentives. Billions of dollars pouring into Gaza from EU countries. Only to be used for more terror and the rest stashed away by Hamas kingpins. The only purpose of Hamas existence is full war against Israel.
I can't believe you bring this nonsense into the discussion in 2019.
18. money for peace ? no way
(03.26.19)
the rocket hit on the mishmeret family is indeed the casus belli.
but neutralizing Hamas propaganda is not enough.
This time we need total unconditional surrender,
If still possible that needs followed with an effort to make gazans productive and self-dependent.
19. Hamas wont disarm
Avi L.   (03.26.19)
Hamas wont disarm

Let's destroy it once and for all

Bibi needs to show he is "da man"
20. Won't work
Yael Schlichting ,   Berlin   (03.27.19)
The Gazans had the chance to build a prospering state, yet they chose terror over productive work. They shashed the greenhouses and irrigation systems of Gush Katif....... and they built an industry to produce missiles, grenades, bombs and child soldiers.
This mess cannot be fixed by giving more money to terrorists.
Ben-Dror Yemini obviously lives in a nice neighborhood, where sirens didn't startle the people yet. Maybe he should leave his ivory tower and move to Sderot for a while.
21. Is this fellow serious?
Ardeth Bey ,   us   (03.27.19)
First, give terrorism the Gaza. Then these animals turn it into a base against Israel. Now ol' Ben wants Israel to generously offer economic benefits if this diabolical thing called 'hamas' disarms.
This is but the outcome of vile pacifism! This is that which says reward evil with good.
First, does Benny really believe hamas will disarm, when it and the whole of the so called Palestinians call for the total annihilation of Israel? What about the other dark factions in the Gaza? Will they also lay down for giving hamas the economic benefits Ben refers to?
What about the hundreds of millions of dollars the US alone has poured into that place and what are the glorious results? Do not these animals cry out still, 'death to America' and 'death to Israel?'
As said, Ben's idea is but the vile fruits of pacifism!!!
22. Makes sense
Bill ,   Skokie   (03.27.19)
Israel should offer Hamas statehood in exchange for recognition of Israel as Jewish homeland, demilitarize, and agree to peaceful coexistence. Israel will facilitate reconstruction, lift siege and both parties agree to diplomatic channels and embassies. This is a giant carrot to Hamas! If they say no and continue the defeatist strategy that they have endured then they are the stupidest people alive. Give them a chance to join the civilized world or reject it. What’s to loose?
23. first Israeli cosmonaut on moon
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto -Kiriat Gat   (03.27.19)
Send Mr Yamini on moon in order not to have to comment and waste time!
24. Hamas wont disarm
Avi L.   (03.27.19)
Hamas wont disarm

ISIS wont disarm

Hezballah wont disarm

Khomeinists wont disarm

Whoever thinks the contrary is delusional

Hamas and JI have to be destroyed, not only as a necessary measure but also as an example for the other khomeinists

Abbas is the last "falastinian leader" the international yellow bellies and gazawis will accept and recognize him as an alternative and justification for ending Hamas rule, saudi will fund and egyptians will have an interest in keeping jihadists at bay

Later facing two fronts will entail too many loses

Hamas wont disarm, destroy it now
25. Already tried giving Hamas money & it didn't work
Isaac Storm   (03.27.19)
Israel already tried giving Hamas money and it didn't work.
26. Gaza, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan.....
Shachar ,   Eilat   (03.31.19)
Need I say more??? The world has poured billions into Gaza and still there is a "humanitarian crisis". Offering economic incentives is more delusional than building snowmen in the Sahara in mid-summer ....the snowman would survive longer than the aid. Cut them off from all aid and they can swim or sink.... . The gazans won't change unless they have no other choice.
